I'd say that he is bound to. That keeps his character going.

From TV Guide's The Insider column:
Lost's Hidden Secrets Revealed!
by Nerina Rammairone
Kate's last flashback had an arresting moment: Sayid on TV!
It's not hard to find links between the castaways on ABC's Lost (Wednesdays at 9 pm/ET). Jack's dad once shared a drink with Sawyer. And the box company Locke worked for? Hurley owned it. The current season is raising the stakes, with plenty of blink-and-you'll-miss-them clues that reveal other ways the Losties' paths have crossed. "There is a design," says Lost cocreator Damon Lindelof. Here's proof. (Photographic evidence appears on page 16 of the Dec. 19 "My Big Year" issue of TV Guide.)
KATE AND SAYID: When Kate visited her Army stepdad at a military recruiting station in the episode "What Kate Did," Sayid popped up on a TV behind her. Similarly, last season during a flashback, Jin entered a house where Hurley was on a Korean TV news program highlighting his lottery win.
HURLEY AND WALT: Who's the missing boy pictured on the milk carton Hurley chugged inside the hatch's pantry during a recent dream sequence? Yep, that's Walt. Was it just Hurley's imagination? Maybe. Maybe not.
CLAIRE AND DESMOND: The drawings on a wall in the hatch — possibly scribbled by Desmond — look hauntingly similar to the paintings that cluttered Claire's loft last season when she told her boyfriend she was pregnant with his child. Coincidence? Well, nothing on Lost ever is.
Indeed, everything means something on Lost. That orientation film in the hatch? It's full of clues to some of the island's biggest mysteries. "The fans have come to expect 'Easter eggs' and that's why we can't do them every week," says Lindelof. "We do it when it's cool." Here are but a few examples. (Photographic evidence appears on page 28 of the Dec. 26 "2006 TV Preview" issue of TV Guide.)
THE DHARMA INITIATIVE LOGO: The film isn't the only place this insignia has appeared. A logo like the one for the privately funded social-science project known as the Dharma Initiative was on almost everything in the hatch (aka Station 3) as well as on the shark that menaced Sawyer and on the fuselage of Flight 815. Was the plane rigged to crash as part of an experiment?
POLAR BEARS: As orientation-film narrator Dr. Marvin Candle explains the purpose of the Initiative — to create a space where scientists and freethinkers alike could study everything from electromagnetism to zoology — two polar bears flash on screen. (They look just like the ones in Hurley's comic book!) Perhaps these bears escaped the research facility and are now wreaking havoc on the island?
FOUNDING FATHERS: B.F. Skinner followers and University of Michigan doctoral candidates Gerald and Karen DeGroot started the Initiative in 1970. Age them about 35 years and they look a lot like the Others who snatched Walt. Hmm....

Shows We're Watching Tonight
Lost: Revelation[New]
8 pm/ET, ABC
Remember Lost, that geeky cult hit that hasn't been on for a year and a half? Actually, it's been only six weeks since Kate was outed as the killer of her father, but it does seem like forever. And in case you need a recap, ABC is presenting one entitled Lost: Revelation, before tonight's first-run show, which focuses on Mr. Eko. What is with that stick? Meanwhile, Claire's having second thoughts about Charlie, the monster reappears, and Jack's jealous about Kate's attention to Sawyer.

The recap special is new, TV Guide is stating. So I guess we've never seen it before, since it includes the tailies?
Trouble is here in Cincinnati, a church group bought that timeslot, over a year ago. So this Lost Revelation special at 8, will air at 1:30 a.m. There goes watching it before the episode, to really get in the mood.
As if I need to get into a Lost mood.....LOL!!!
Anyway, the special before hand looks good, I just have to wait until tomorrow to see it. I'll be asleep at 1:30 a.m.!

Lost Exclusive: Foxy!
by Shawna Malcom
It’s easy to see why everyone calls him "Foxy." But 39-year-old Matthew Fox brings more than just rugged good looks to Lost. His nuanced portrayal of the ABC hit’s never-say-die doc Jack Shephard has earned the former Party of Five star his first Golden Globe nomination.
It’s a big week for the married father of two: Not only will he compete at the Globes on Jan. 16, but Jack will once again get the flashback treatment on Jan. 18. This episode may finally answer some questions about his short-lived marriage to Sarah (Boston Legal’s Julie Bowen).
Acting isn't Fox's only passion. An avid photographer, he often spends downtime on the Oahu, Hawaii, set with a camera in hand. In the magazine, Fox shares some of his favorite photos from his personal album and reveals what makes him snap-happy — as well as what juicy developments are coming up on Lost.
How did you get into photography?
It started as a hobby when I was shooting Party of Five. I have a tendency to get really wrapped up in the acting, so taking pictures is a nice little breather. And then I started having children [daughter Kyle, 8, and son Byron, 4], and they’re the greatest subjects ever. I love taking pictures of my kids.
Lost is an ensemble, but you’re nominated for a Golden Globe in the lead-actor category. How did that happen?
Because of the structure of the show, it's tough for me to be nominated in a best-actor category. But my agents and managers said for anybody who watches the show, you're the central figure of it. You're the anchor. I took their advice, and I feel really honored and excited that it worked out.
What can you tell us about Jack’s flashback episode, which airs Jan. 18?
It’s difficult material, especially the backstory stuff. Jack’s a very egotistical guy, and there’s a big part of him that is starting to believe he can do things that other people can't. In the flashback, he takes on another case that would require another miracle, like the one when he cured [wife] Sarah, and, in the process, he ends up losing the one thing that’s most important to him — his wife. That ties into the island story where Michael runs off into the jungle looking for Walt. Jack feels responsible for it, as he does with pretty much everything. He’s driven to bring Michael back and runs up against a brick wall.
What kind of brick wall?
It’s a situation where he has to confront the reality that somebody else has control and is dictating to him what he’s going to do, and Jack has a hard time accepting that....

I know! I wish the 2 shows were brand news scenes. The first one is a recap but with the newer members from the tail section. But I'll take a recap, if nothing else I'll be even more psyched.
You all remember the very last scene we saw, don't you?
Michael in the bunker, at the computer, conversing with 'someone'.....who merely asks - Dad?
I've got chills already!!!! That had better be Walt and I hope he's alive!

Thought I'd read tonight's episode summary, on epguides.
http://epguides.com/Lost/
Check out Feb. 15th's Episode Title - "Maternity Leave"...... no info, of course. Too early for that. Now I'm really curious - makes ya wonder if someone will turn up pregnant? Sun?

Ah, well, 9pm so time for the new one
A recap episode means just that... the DH and Grey's Anatomy recap shows were the same way. I don't like it either, but you can't expect anything new.
and if you got 2 new shows, then you'd have yet another week with a repeat.

Canelaw99 wrote:LOL ain't that the truth. There's not much on any night anymore. I just hate they went so long between episodes - it's terrible to do that to your fans.
Yep... I know how that feels. Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Commander-in-Chief, Lost, Invasion all are coming back from long breaks this week(or have already). Over a month in every case.
