Awesome, just awesome. Great episode. Echo is king of the jungle!!!! Did you see how he stared evil in the face and scared it away? lol. He is an great character to the show, I love him. Alot of questions answered, but many more arose. I just can't get enough of this show.

Mass is at 8 a.m., you'd better not be late or else Fr. Eko will hunt you down!

LOL

Okay, so now he's passing himself off as a priest.....mmmm. Sorry folks, can't be that excited about this character....yet. He has to save somebody for me to like him. Wait, he did return Sawyer, so that's one notch. I need a few more to really like him.

And I still say he was not on Flight 815. I wasn't sure if he was on the drug smuggling plane or not, now we know he wasn't. I know we're supposed to believe he's a tailie. My daughter Laura wondered if he was an "other" for a while, several episodes ago. A reformed "other". I don't know what he is, but he's not a priest and I still doubt he was on the plane.

Poor Charlie. Claire kicked him out. So......was he sleeping near her and Aaron? Or under their shelter? Was there more to this relationship than we were shown? Time will tell!

It was something to see Eko face down that black monster. Locke would have been kissing the ground Eko was standing on, if he had witnessed that.

Hope Charlie can win back Claire.

Oh yeah, it was nice to see people like Sawyer now. Much to his dismay. There goes his surly reputation! LOL

It showed Ecko coming in on the beach and helping save the little girl giving her CPR. He was wet and I think he was on the plane.

BUT you know what really bugs me..........they said nothing about how the show ended last time with the computer and Michael and "Walt". What happened after he said Dad? Did I miss something tonight? And did anyone get to read what the last line was that "Walt" wrote about you need to come.........after he asked him where he was. And then in sneak peaks for next week they said Michael had stolen some guns and took off in the jungle. Seems like he should have taken some help with him....that is just plain crazy going by himself.

Oh well! All in all it was a little bit of a let down but still answered a few questions.

No you didn't miss anything. I was thinking the same thing - did we miss a scene? I wanted to see what Michael did after he read - Dad? I'm guessing someone came in the room and he had to log off quickly?

What I'd like to know is why he won't reveal he's been communicating with someone on the computer?

Or since that's forbidden, they'll all stop his access to the bunker?

I just think the Eko we saw portraying last night in flashbacks is not who we see on the island. As with Kate.

And now for TV Guide's Thursday morning Lost critique...enjoy!

http://www.tvguide.com/TV/Watercooler/

Lost

Wouldn't it be funny if they showed the backstory of one of the random survivors and it was all happy and uncomplicated? Because, really, I don't think anyone could win a game of "Who's pre-island life was more tragic?" Even though becoming a scary guerrila fighter/gangster to save your brother and then getting him killed while trafficking drugs ranks up there. I've got to commend Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje's acting skill: Before tonight's episode, his eyes had already told us what menace, sympathy and sadness Eko was pacifying under all that faith. And man, is he clever, too. Did you notice how all Claire said was that Charlie carried a statue, and he guessed the entire thing? That's kind of an odd assumption to make. Charlie, on the other hand, is not so good with the detective work. "You're a priest!" he finally exclaimed after finding the dead guy with a collar and noticing the scripture on Eko's "Jesus stick." Armed with all that tragedy and faith, Eko scared away the black-cloud monster with just a mean ol' glare. This was the DVR slow-mo play of the week: After many rewinds and pauses, I'm pretty sure I could make out the shadowy images of the old man he killed, the church, his brother and the statue-selling lady. Seems to me like the monster is made up of what haunts you from your past. And after the kind of life he's had, neither that, nor the insane coincidence of surviving a plane crash on the same island your brother crashed into years ago could make you flinch.

In other island matters: First, either someone in another Dharma station is messing with Michael, or Walt is communicating telepathically. No way could that Apple IIc or whatever it is have IM. As for Michael's mission, I hope no one finds out he wasted a whole jar of ranch dressing on target practice. Second, is Charlie stockpiling herion in case of some desperate moment he expects? And third, in that one simple haircut scene, Kate and Sawyer really looked like a couple - something about the way they were so comfortable together. And by the way, I want lessons in benign cursing from Sawyer. Let's introduce "bullpockey" into our convesations today. It might scare away any nightmares Eko's story might have left us. — Sabrina Rojas Weiss

I was thinking about that herion Charlie is stashing. If he started back up again, there could never be enough no matter how much he stashed. It will run out adventually, and he will have to endure withdraws again. I think it just makes him feel comfortable in some sort of way, knowing its there. I hope he doesn't slip now that Claire has kicked him out. I am thinking that somehow someone will need some pain relief, or to go to sleep for a while and Charlie will come to the resue with a statue of herion. Don't know though.

And on the Micheal and Walt thing. I think it's Walt communicating with him telepathically of sorts. We all know Walt is special in that sort of way. I can't believe Micheal takes off next week alone to find him. I would really like to know what that last line said on the computer as well. We really need a DVR so I can replay some things and pause them. My hubby has been asking for a while, I think I will get one here in the next month.

And I still say I love Echos character. Even though he has had a rough past (as the rest of them have had) I think he has a good soul. He still scares me though, the way he sliced those dealers necks without hesitation when they mouthed back.

That is a good thought about the smoke being all things that haunt you from the past. Seems like everyone has had to deal with their worst part of their past there on the island. Hurley with the numbers, Ana with her quick decisions that ended too many lifes too soon, Jack and the way he views the world from a scientific point of view, Charley and his addiction. Just wondering if that isn't the whole point here being that they are they are there to deal with, fight, and conqueor their demons. That would make too much sense though. Well can't wait for next week to see what else they throw at us.

My husbands thoughts on the whole show is that everyone died in the crash, and this is their own personal pergatory. I disagree...

Purgatory is one consistent theory but the writers have said it is not purgatory. So there goes that idea!

One thing is for certain, they're all lost in a way or had lost their way in life. And have been able to overcome their own personal obstacles while on the island: Charlie - drug addiction, Locke - paralysis, Kate - prosecution/arrest, Claire - giving Aaron up, Jin - his job and what it required, Hurley - his friends/family bad luck (traded it for more bad luck, with a new set of friends!), Jack - facing what he did to his father's career while practicing medicine himself, etc. There's more but you get the idea. Sayid too - for his role in the Rep Army.

And oh yeah, many have actually killed another person: Sayid, Sawyer, Kate, Eko, Ana Lucia, maybe Jack (whatever happened to his wife?).

LOL@JQ....well, I want to like him. But something's holding me back! But hey I guess they can all say they're something else when they get to the island? Kate - Sunday School teacher maybe? LOL

I usually trust my first instinct or gut and I still Eko say was not on Flight 815!

But I'll give him another chance.....maybe!

Now Jack - he's my guy!

that tells me that Hurley and the numbers, or possibly Danielle, are about to take center stage.

Oh wow. You know what's fun? Watching the entire season so far (10 episodes) in 3 days. Everything is fresh in your mind with each new episode.
I didn't plan it that way, but I have been LOST all year! The night of the premier, I was packing to evacuate for Hurricane Rita and watching model runs, forecast updates, etc. so I was taping the show to watch when I returned a few days later. (ha! yeah, like that happened!) Anyway, when I finally tried to watch the tape, it was very little LOST and a lot of local news breaking in about Rita. Long story short: When I finally returned, no cable, no internet, and really too much going on to think about LOST. I finally got AOL because there was still no cable but I wouldn't try downloading with that.

Anyway....I've been sick all week so I finally downloaded everything this season from iTunes. Thanks for the tip, Miss Mary.

It's been killing me seeing this thread bumped up all the time, knowing I couldn't open it. I was intrigued over the summer by sites like this one:
http://www.oceanic-air.com/home.htm
I've had to avoid everything LOST. But now I'm finally caught up!! :bd:

I read almost every post for the past umpteen pages. I love how Miss Mary is so into this show when I remember trying to get her into it last year. At first she wasn't interested, and then lo and behold...

Wow, he's still my favorite! He doesn't want to face the fact that they're all on this island for a specific reason yet and is still trying to explain it all away, in a calm, reasonable way. But I still really like him!

But it's okay......for some Locke is their clear favorite. And then there's Sawyer.....he is growing on me though. Oh yeah, arm injury and all.....he'll turn out to be good, reluctantly of course. He'll fight being 'good' all the way....

Love this show...

Mary

PS - Just noticed my local Blockbuster rents the first season of Lost. Disc by disc. We're missing about 6 episodes b/c ABC didn't air the complete first season this past summer. Now we have to figure out which ones we're missing, which disc they're on and rent them. This will be a cheaper way to go for us, since the entire DVD collection is close to $50! Just thought I'd mention this to fans who might not know you can rent them....

$38.98 at Amazon plus free shipping!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00005 ... d&v=glance

Miss Mary wrote:Next stop was at Blockbuster. We need to rent 4 discs at over $4 each, to see all of these episodes. I stood there contemplating what to do. I know that's a waste of money, since I can purchase the first season thru Amazon for $38. But that doesn't include shipping.

Shipping is free. Look at the link. $38.98 & this item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping - Super Saving Shipping is on purchases over $25 so FREE.

Did you ever buy it?

I don't think it's really Walt on the computer. I think it's the others messing with Michael's mind. They also now know that some of the survivors are in the bunker, at least one. They asked "Are you alone?" I don't see why Walt would ask his dad that, but I don't think Michael would read much into it because he was so emotional over thinking he's talking to his son.
