Bad Luck comes in 3's?

#1 Postby CajunMama » Fri Jan 20, 2006 12:06 pm

I hear bad luck comes in doses of 3. It's only January 20 and so far this year:

1/3 My daughter gets in a wreck (not her fault) :grr:
1/14 My daughter takes a trip to the ER in Orlando, FL :grr:
1/20 My daughter is driving my car, ran over something and got a flat :grr:

An expensive year so far for my bank account. Ok...i've vented but i still feel poor!

Yup, your daughter is having bad luck but so is your budget!

Been there, done that.

I believe in the Bad Luck Comes in Three's! And I usually breathe a sigh of relief when the third one happens OR I state something minor was the third one. So a really bad third bad luck event doesn't happen!

Hang in there...

I know bad luck is yucky, but think of it as you have already gotten all the bad luck out of your system for the year 2006! :ggreen: :cheesy: :ggreen:

Let's hope that's the end of your bad streak.

Kathy, any of us who have ever worked in hospitals will always concur - bad luck
seems to come in three's!

I hope the "third time is charm" saying brings you better luck from here on out
through the new year!

My streak of bad luck happened in 1999 and early 2000. In june 1999 oldest son was diagnosed with kidney failure and needed kidney transplant asap. In Oct 1999 I was diganosed with thyroid cancer. In Jan 2000 my youngest son has carwreck that severely injured him. (Internal Injuries, both bones in lower leg broken. puntured wound on knee that went halfway up the thigh on other leg.) All this happened between June 1999 and Jan 2000.

Oh my Daylily, my bad luck seems trivial compared to what you went thru.

CajunMama,
My oldest son recieved a kidney on Sept 2, 2000 and I had my cancer removed before it spread so I lucked out on that. Youngest son was the one who endured the worst part of it. It took him a full year to recover from all of his injuries. Then he went out and bought a ninja style motorcycle and made me wonder if he was trying to kill himself unintentionally. The bike got stolen off the Navy Pier and was never recovered. I said "Thank you Lord" when I heard that. We are all doing ok now and the son who had the wreck became a daddy on June 14, 2005 to a little boy named Tyler Mathew Mason. So things are back to what passes for normal for us.
