I'm so bored with Susan's stories now. Yawn! Can't believe it, but Gabby is holding my interest....somewhat. I'm just annoyed with Susan's manipulations and goofy habits. She needs to grow up!

Lynette is still my favorite, from early on.

I was a good show last night... I watched it... I am also shocked about Lynettes hubby now being happy... Though I can totally understand... He was the provider for the family for ever and now he is mister mom... Sucks to be him... Put those kids in day care and get a job!!! But the old sick guy... I cant remember who he is or what his charactor is about... and what about the nurse at the end? I just cant seem to remember them? Good show though...

The old guy is Noah... Deidre's dad(Mike's ex-lover). He was paying Mike to be on Wisteria Lane and find clues to what happened to her.

The nurse was Felicia Tillman, Martha Huber's sister. She arrived after Mrs. Huber was murdered and figured out Paul's big secret and confronted him about it, then got beat up by Zach in the season finale.

Once again I need to ask what the last 5 minutes were about and what the previews are for next week.

This is the last time I ask this question, I promise! I will edit our DVR recording, I just thought it had been extended 3 more minutes and it wasn't. So I missed the last few minutes and previews. I can't even recall what the last scene was I saw....maybe Carlos shoving that photographer thru the window? Or Tom walking away from Lynnette, after saying he's not happy.

I wish all shows aired in the half or hour time slot and didn't run over. Or start early (ER does this). That 70s Show and Lost both run over about 3 minutes. Along with DH, of course.

It's aggravating! Thanks.

Last 5 minutes was mostly the Tom/Lynette scene. He said he was unhappy about not being the provider anymore and Lynette asked "Well what are we going to do about that?", and then it cuts to Bree coming home and playing messages on her answering machine, and it's the detective saying he felt badly about the arrest so he dug up info on the dead guy in front of the Applewhites, revealing he's a private investigator from Chicago, where they moved from. After that Mary Alice does the closing monologue and it just reviews all the plots. The very last thing was in the hospital room with Noah and a new nurse. He's going on about how all his people he loved are gone now after working so hard all those years, and then it pans over to Felicia Tillman and she says "the other nurses all warned me you'd be difficult, but I think we're going to get along just fine".

Preview:

Announcer: Next Sunday on an all-new Desperate Housewives
Bree knocks on a door
Bree: Honey, are you in there?
We see Matthew and Danielle kissing
Dr. Ron: I'm inches away from ripping off all your clothes right now
Susan: and your stopping yourself why?
Ed: We need to hire someone this week
Lynette: Do you have someone that you'd maybe recommend?
Tom: Yeah
Lynette: What's his name?
Tom: Tom Scavo
Lynette: No
Tom: You don't think I'm good enough, do you?
Gabby: You are threatening me with an annullment? That conniving b**** put you up to this, didn't she?
Gabby to Sister Mary: That was a mistake
Fight! Gabby vs. Sister Mary(in Church, LOL)
Announcer: An all-new Desperate Housewives, Next Sunday 9/8 Central only on ABC

Aha, Mrs. Huber's sister resurfaces...I did see the beginning of that bedside scene. And wondered who the nurse would turn out to be. So I guess I didn't miss too much. Took a while to place who Mrs. Tillman was but I figured it out. I always remember this actress as Bebe from the Frasier show.

Thanks for the info Brent.

TV Guide's Watercooler DH critique....

http://www.tvguide.com/TV/Watercooler/

Desperate Housewives
Best plot tonight was the Tom and Lynette story where she wanted him to get a vasectomy after he told her he'd want to possibly have a new family if she died unexpectedly. I was so glad he decided against it. The whole episode was just another opportunity for Doug Savant to shine. That part at the end when he admitted to being unhappy — wow. Chills. Worst plot was the whole Gabrielle-having-posed-for-nude-photos-when-she-was-younger story. Like any husband would remain calm and not care whether the photos were destroyed. Like any wife would disrobe in front of the gardeners. Like any photographer would give back the photos and negatives without asking for money. But worst of all, Carlos pushing the photographer through the glass door after he said Gabi wasn't "Internet pretty"? Yeah, right. At least the other story lines kicked butt. I loved that it was Betty who drove Bree home after her DUI and jail time. How great for Bree to be the one to tell Betty that all the neighbors were talking about her. Best lines were Nicollette's and Felicity's. Edie: "I don't trust friendly women." Lynette: "That's OK. They don't trust you either." And I'm glad Susan has a new love interest after the date from hell with Greg Germann from Ally McBeal. If Dr. Ron looks familiar to you, he was one of the stars of the lackluster NBC version of Coupling, Jay Harrington. However, I will always remember Jay because he came up to me at a karaoke bar after I did my rendition of John Denver's "Annie's Song" and said "Excellent job on your song!" Scout's honor. Interesting ending with Martha Huber's sister, Felicia, being the new nurse for that dude from Shawshank Redemption. I was wondering where she's been hiding. — Dave Anderson

I am not sure what the deal is. I thought the wandering spleen last week was a joke, but maybe it was foreshadowing???

The Cat Fight was HILARIOUS. :roflmao: So Carlos and Gabby are going to have a baby with no strings attached and no changing of birth control!!! HAHA... Betty totally owned Bree when she got her to keep quiet about Caleb. It's also nice to FINALLY hear Andrew's hit and run brought up again. It's been over a year(in TV) since it happened.

Trying to get thru it but it's a busy night around here. Up to the part where Gabby finds the Annullment packet.

An earlier scene with Tom and Lynette up late, going over ad campaigns reminded me of an old movie, Mr. Mom, with Teri Garr and Michael Keaton. She goes to work when he gets laid off, they have 3 kids, hectic household and she has to come up with a good slogan to sell Tuna. Anyway, that kitchen scene brought back funny memories of that movie.......

I'll try to finish it soon. Nice to know it's just sitting there recorded on DVR....the last 3 minutes too, I edited the timer to go over until 10:03 now. But I think I need to move it up a minute or two. I didn't see that football shot?

It beat football!!!!!

At 9 p.m., "Desperate Housewives" scored a 15.3/22 to move ABC ahead of FOX, which got a 14.9/20 for the final hour of the Seahawks' 34-14 win over Carolina. "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" was third for NBC at 6.8/10. CBS averaged 5.7/8 with an "NCIS" rerun, while The WB went with a "Supernatural" repeat.
