Phoenix, one week away from a historic mark

The other end of the extreme here... 19+ inches of rain at our house since mid-December.

Some snow as well... but mostly rain.


Here is Lake Sammamish just east of Seattle and just west of our house. Notice the submerged docks...





But check out our local ski resort just 15 miles the other way with 100+ inches on the ground...

Incredible snow for only being around 3,000 feet.

they have palm trees in washington state? I thought it was too cold and cloudy up there. Guess I was wrong... lol. I learn something new everyday...although I do remember being in vancouver, british columbia and there were none there.

There are definitely palm trees here. And they do pretty well.

They are not native but lots of people plant them in their yards.

Although the web site says we only have 55 days of sun a year... that means days with no clouds.

There are lots of days with sunshine and clouds. Like this very January day.

This is a web cam shot from this afternoon in Seattle. This was NOT one of those 55 days but it was a pretty nice afternoon. Technically a day with rain and clouds but also sunshine...

Almost biblical rain and snow up here tonight.

They have closed Snoqualmie Pass just up the road from my house where snow is falling at an amazing rate. We were up there skiing this morning and the conditions were awesome. Luckily we left as the storm hit.

The snowbanks were LITERALLY 30 feet high.


And you want rain???? The latest Seattle radar...

IMAGINE THIS............NO RAIN OR SNOW, JUST "HOT, HOT TEMPS!" and I DO mean HOT temps for this time O' year I am SO friggin' DEPRESSED over this. It's one thing to have a DRY spell but NOT for THIS EXTENDED period of time, I mean CRIPS........
