Charges to be dropped.

“We screwed up,” a top Capitol Police official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

He said Sheehan didn't violate any rules or laws.

Oh good grief. If they were gonna screw up, they should have stuck a muzzle on her and made it a doozy!

:uarrow:

agreed southerngale...she's a nut job...plain and simple...her 15 minutes are up and she doesn't want to let them go.

i understand her grief...but she's even been quoted saying that since she lost her son she shouldn't have to pay taxes???

On Sunday, she faced reports that she was not paying her federal income taxes. "They killed my son in an illegal and immoral war," the Vacaville, Calif., woman told a reporter who asked, "and I don't feel like I owe them anything

I am so sick of her rants and raves... she had her 15 minutes of fame already, and she didn't deserve that.

How exactly was she "speaking"???? by wearing something? "expression" maybe..."speech" no.

they do not allow cameras in the Supreme Court of the US (and many other courts in the nation as well...) so what it seems like some of y'all are trying to say is that if you bring a camera into the Supreme Court of the US and "use" it you shouldn't be asked to leave???

Wearing a t-shirt with a political message written on it is clearly a form of free expression, the constuitution allows that under both "Freedom of Speech" and the "right to petition the government for a redress of greviances." It's clearly covered by any reasonable interpretation of the constitution. in addition a right doesn't have to be specifically enumerated for the people to have it.

The enumeration in this constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
9th Amendment US Constitution.

I'll also reask a question I asked earlier.

"Exactly how is expressing an anti-war opinion, dishonoring the troops who've died in this war?"

Given that our military members take an oath to defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, when among the rights, given under the Constituation, they are dying to protect are the right of people to freedom of speech, and the right of people to petition the government for a redress of greviences.

Who saw her on Paula Zahn Now? She said she got cuts and bruses last night when she was detained.

How do you get cuts and bruses by being arrested for wearing a tshirt? Did she put up a fight outside? Were the police using excessive force? What?

Sheehan and the other gal should have remained in the gallery. The only time I was up in the gallery I sat quiet as a mouse and just watched. I don't think her shirt was offensive. I don't agree with Sheehan, but I feel her loss. What if she wins in California Senate race in November

Well, she won't...Dianne Feinstein is well-respected in California. She's a shoo-in incumbent.

at least they weren't discriminating one way or the other.
