Talk about Kansas' extremes!

#1 Postby David » Thu May 29, 2003 5:15 pm

Kansas is known for it's wacky weather. Could be 40 one day, 62 the next. It's just downright HOT in Kansas this week, that ridge is working real good, if you like the heat.

Liberal, Kansas was 97° today for a high. You think that's hot? Look at Goodland! They reached a high of 104°! That ties an all-time record high temp for that location in the Month of May!!

Today, I was shooting for an 88° here in Topeka on the forecasting contest over there last night, but it looks like it may only reach 86°. They are forecasting a 90° tomorrow, with little to no rain in sight for atleast 6-7 days.

It will finally cool down in the weekend, but loks to warm up more next week.

My God!! I'm glad I don't live in Goodland. Don't sound like a very Good Land to live in right now.

Yep, I was right, the official high at Topeka wasa 86°. Still forecasted to reach 90, but i'm going to shoot for a 91, not like I want it, but it happens. Also, Hays, Kansas had a high of 93°. Looks like all of Western Kansas were 90° or higher.

Wow David! So hot in Kansas, warmer than Florida and abnormal cool in southern New England, however, it was in the very low 70's here on Thursday.
