Betty Friedan/Feminist dies at 85

#1 Postby Miss Mary » Sat Feb 04, 2006 10:58 pm

Can't say I agreed with her but she did empower many women who needed more out of life. To be honest, I was surprised to read she had 3 children and had been married (divorced after 22 years though). Let's just say I could never picture her making a cake, from scratch. But I respect her opinions anyway. RIP Betty.

Friedan was a great force for change and progress. Half of our potential was tapped in domestic affairs, and today there are more females than males in my college class. She never joined with the man hating feminists and was considered an Uncle Tom by the radicals.
