Anybody interested in a "Virtual Chase Case"?

#1 Postby wxmann_91 » Sat Feb 04, 2006 3:23 pm

Refer to this thread: http://www.storm2k.org/phpbb2/viewtopic ... start=1160

I am planning to transform the thread above into something like this thread (links to another forum): http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/viewtop ... 20&start=0

You could post targets and discuss and stuff. I am not sure how many people would participate though. I would give maybe 1 or 2 days and then give the day of the event and the tornadoes. Whoever had the closest target to a tornado would go continue with a new date.

ST (the forum in the 2nd link) had this and then stopped for whatever reason. Not that it mattered, since I'm not a storm chaser I can't participate in their discussions.

Until I'm sure how many people would participate I am unwilling to transform that thread yet. Please vote!!!

Oh I forgot - I could be starting a new thread also instead of using an existing thread if WindRunner comes back.

Please vote!!! Don't be apathetic. If you don't want to participate click "No". However, I will be looking at how many "Yes" 's to determine if I should do this.

Amazing - 7 votes and all for "Yes"! But since most of these votes are probably from lurkers here that occasionally visit, I'll wait till there are 10-15 votes before I start the thread.

One of them is mine, even if I haven't been around too much the past week . . .

Since there are only eight people who voted yes I will delay the start of this game until there are 10-15 votes. However, please, if you will not be interested in this game, vote No! or the last option. If you vote yes of course that will skew the data.

This sounds like a great idea, lets get it going! I clicked through the posts on the other topic you showed us, and it turns out the area I would have picked for my target area was right on track with where the tornadoes occur...so maybe this is right down my alley.

I'm thinking of starting it up again, this Northwest Flow is absolutely killing me. (now imagine the chasers) I've learned a lot since the first time I did this.
