Will this work?

While I applaud the move, I don't think its a sound strategy. Cutting salaries would piss anybody off, but cutting salaries to exec's is another story. GM needs to perform a SWAT analysis and look to oversees markets to increase its growth.

They need to get rid of their boring product line and make cars that people want to buy. With the exception of the Corvette and some of their trucks, I can't name a single one of thier models. GMC = Generally Mundane Cars

My paternal grandfather is a retiree of GM...and I did enjoy driving a 1974 Olds that he sold me in the 1980s. Also, later bought a 1990 Olds Ciera that I enjoyed for several years until last fall...when after several maintenance problems (bumper to bumper)...I sold it and bought a 2000 Toyota Corolla...the first import that my folks and I have ever had in our family.

I have owned corvettes and to be honest even though I am a die hard vette man the product is not all that great. Constant mechanical issues and high cost of repair are a pain. I agree that the product lines of GM are less than desirable. I now own two Acura's(Honda Product) and have little to no service issues with them. GM has a whole heap of problems and their product line is just one of them.

Cutting the dividend is a bad idea. That will lead to a stock sell-off and furtehr devaluing. Cutting executive salaries and tyin gbonuses to actual performance is a good idea.
