Noreaster storm conditions

Thought I'd start a thread regarding conditions as they deteriorate throughout the northeast tomorrow. I'm in Rhode Island and they've just posted a blizzard watch for our south coast tomorrow afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Everyone stay safe and enjoy the storm

I just think its funny that this storm just randomly popped up at 84 hours on the GFS a couple of day ago, and now it could be one of the biggest storms to impact the northeast in a long time. Never seen that happen before...

Well the GFS was the only model really showing this storm and everyone knows what GFS stands for ( Good For S?$t) I will be surprised if it turns out to be true. I am hoping, because I miss snow!!

I was thinking the exact same thing Tyler. I'm actually quite worried because lets face it, most people unlike us do not pay that much attention to the weather or the forecast, especially when most TV stations were reporting it clear for the East this weekend up until last night or even this morning. I just hope that due to it's out of nowhere nature this one doesn't cause any increased damage, disruption, or God forbid lose of life.

Anyone in the northeast...

Is there a lot of people flocking to the grocery/hardware stores? Heck, Wal-Mart? Lol.

I hope everyone is ok. No one takes winter storms seriously these days it seems. At least in southern Ontario that is.

Tonight it was crazy at the supermarket, but tomorrow morning will be worse. Glad I'm all set with supplies and generator is ready in case of power failures. Now because I'm all set the storm will disappear- has happened to me before.

yea people went nuts during the afternoon when we were supposed to get a foot here, now everyone is like what happened...if we get 4" we'll be lucky.

I saw grackles flocking by the dozen to the feeders in my back yard. I wonder if the birds know the storm is coming. When I went running in my neighborhood, I saw that they were still there cackling up in the trees.

My wife went out shopping, and she did not comment on any big crowds, or even on any shortages in the store. The local meteors said that Richmond is supposed to get 3-5 inches.

I normally shop on Friday nights and it was definately MUCH MORE crowded than normal. The bread was getting pretty picked over.

I heard locally that Home Depot had been running clearance sales on their snow blowers just to get them out of stock - which they are now! :lol:

Well I'm glad that people seem to be preparing. I was a tad worried, as noted above, due in large part to how drastically the forecast has changed the last two days.
