We're riding in style now!

#1 Postby coriolis » Sat Feb 11, 2006 8:40 pm

I gave up on the SUV idea. Someone warned me that their 6 passenger capacity was with two bench seats and they were right.

Instead we got a '98 Ford Windstar. 92K miles, all the options, 3.8L V-6.
This buggy is nice! Only a few very minor scuffs on the outside. (For an 8-year old car you'd expect a lot worse) No rust, no stains or tears in the seats or carpets, and everything works. I did sign up for CAR FAX and it came back clean. All the crash test data and other rating data seems very good for an american made vehicle. It comes with a 6-month aftermarket warranty.

They didn't sell very well that year because in that year chrysler and GMC came out with the rear drivers side door and Ford didn't. In light of that the resale values are depressed too. That doesn't bother me in the least. I wouldn't want my kids getting out on the traffic side anyway. Other than that, it got great reviews. They cost $25,000 new. I paid $3950 and it has half of it's useful life left.

If anyone is really bored, you can read this review.

Can't you tell that I'm excited!

Congratulations on the newer vehicle, Ed! Heck, it looks like a good one, too.
Now you can yell at the family like Jed Clampett - "Jethro? Ellie Mae? Load
'em up!" LOL, j/k - I have a friend that does that to his kids, and, it makes
me laugh, every time! Anyhoo, good luck with the new van!
