hey everyone! I woke up about an hour ago. the flakes have begun flying here in Keene... coming down lightly currently however bands of heavier snow are moving northward through MA right now. the NWS has lowered the accumulation forecast for all of southern New England... I dont know why though... if anything I would raise it considering that it appears the low will pass closer to New England than previously thought.
anyway, based on the latest statement, the low is down to 991mb

THIS LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DEEPENING AS IT
MOVES UP THE EASTERN SEABOARD TONIGHT. AS THIS OCCURS...SNOWFALL
WILL RAPIDLY INCREASE...ESPECIALLY ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN AND
CENTRAL NEW ENGLAND. THE MAJOR I-95 CORRIDOR CITIES FROM
WASHINGTON D.C. TO BOSTON SHOULD RECEIVE SOME SIGNIFICANT SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS. INCREASING WINDS TONIGHT INTO SUNDAY COULD BRING
BLIZZARD CONDITIONS TO SOME AREAS ALONG THE COAST FROM LONG ISLAND
TO DOWNEAST MAINE.
ALL INTERESTS NEAR AND WITHIN THE WATCH/WARNING AREAS ARE
ENCOURAGED TO REFER TO STATEMENTS FROM LOCAL NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE FORECAST OFFICES FOR THE LATEST INFORMATION ON THIS STORM.
THE NEXT STORM SUMMARY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL
PREDICTION CENTER AT 10 AM EST SUN FEB 12.

Hi all,
Around 11PM last night we had about 4 inches of snow outside.... Now its almost 6am and we're pushing 1 foot here in NW DC (measured 10-12" in separate locations). Still snowing heavily, and it looks like we could get several more inches before its all over. Interesting thing was we had a few hours of rain initially(Noon-2pm), and then periods of snow (sometimes heavy) with no accumulation whatsoever until the sun went down last night. Looked like we weren't going to get much, sure was surprised when I went outside this morning. Will post again with final totals after it's over.
Btw-based on the radar today, it looked like Philly was going to be one of the big winners with this system, however I heard on TWC that as of early this morning they "haven't got much" --Can anyone verify this?

Hi everyone, I as well as quite a few other people in the UK are paying very close attention to this storm thats hitting the eastern seaboard of the USA will eventually give us some fun over here in the UK in term sof possible gales eventually as well as heavy thundery showers, hail and who knows what else!
Infact that process has already started, heres the set-up in 60hrs time, the LP hitting you is the same one just to our north:
