Here's a tidbit of info. My hubby and I were watching "Executive Decision" the other night on cable, and I noticed that the airline in that movie is also Oceanic Airlines, so I looked it up on the puter, and here's what I found:

Here ya go, Fly...

What an episode...man! Charlie, Charlie, Charlie...I wanted him to try and repair his image. Don't think this is gonna help! I know they don't know now, but I'm sure they will eventually.

As for Sawyer, I didn't see it coming but I can't say that I'm surprised. He cons people, after all. He sure does look good being the bad boy though. It's kinda strange watching Sawyer and Jack go at each other...I love them both!

After glancing at a few Lost boards, I see I'm not the only one unsure about the last flashback with Sawyer, when Cassidy left and he went out to the car. I think I'll watch it again.
AWESOME commercial...thank you for posting that...from a true LOST addict...

He looked at me and said, "Now I'm gonna warn you, once you start watching you will not stop." I said, uh oh ok whatever dude but, I didn't walk back and pick up Disk One of the first season. Now mind you this was about noonish on saturday. We went back home watched the movie and then popped in Lost on the big screen with surround sound. I swear to you that from the moment the music started playing on the menu I was hooked. It was weird... When the first disk was finished me and my girlfriend were like NOOOOO!!!!! and then we ran back to blockbuster and got Disk's 2 and 3. Last night was tuesday so we just finished the first season. I was doing a little research and found out that we are now on like week 13 of the new season so it kind of sucks cause I don't want to start watching now. I want to wait for the second season ... what are my bloody options.... Can someone please help me? It's like i'm charlie and I need another fix. See I even talk the show...

I enjoyed reading how you and your g/f got hooked on Lost. Those Blockbuster clerks know their business huh? LOL

I didn't watch Lost when it first started. Vaguely heard about a disaster type show, about a group of people stranded on a deserted island. I pictured Gilligan's Island but a drama, instead. Then we hosted a xmas party (Dec. 04). A few people started talking about new shows and of course Desperate Housewives came up. One friend just piped right up and said, the show I can't get enough of is Lost! I repeated what I thought the premise was and she laughed, grabbed my arm and said and I quote - "OMG, you have to start watching!" I muttered, "well I like disaster movies." She said "oh it's so much more." Then somehow sci-fi came up and I said, bingo, I'm a Star Wars fans/geek, other sci-fi movies too......she wouldn't let go of my arm. Told me I had to watch the next episode. I did and of course I was confused - very! I posted on this thread back then and finally someone posted that ABC was going to reair the entire season over the summer. My daughter Laura and I started watching. We immediately loved it! However, ABC skipped 7 episodes - grrrrr! So like you and your g/f, we both went up to Blockbuster and rented the discs we were missing. We were finally all caught up when Season 2 started.

My favorite character, by far? JACK!!!

But again, I had to laugh, not at you, but with you, b/c you jumped into this show all in one week. Wow! We jumped in over the summer (and I had a few Season 1 episodes under my belt).

Looking forward to tonight's show. It's the one show a week I would not miss. I would absolutely make time for Lost!

Oh yeah, before I close, when we were catching up over the summer we had a storm brew up. And since we have Satellite, we started losing the signal. We knew the power might go out (it did) so I literally ran for the Sony AM/FM/WX/TV radio AND one better, my husband's Sony Watchman. LOL We had the audio right away and were frantically trying to tune in ABC on the Watchman. My husband looked over at us both and said - get a grip, it's just a TV show! We just glared at him (at the next commerical break!).

southfloridawx2005 - we're here if you have any questions! I frequent and sometimes post on the Internet Movie Database's message board for Lost. Even though it's a movie website, it has a page for every TV show also, along with a message board. I'll post the link in a sec, but I should warn you, there are diehard Lost fans from day-one and they get so aggravated with the same old questions that come up from fans that just started watching. Or UK fans, since get this, Lost's Season 1 is airing over there, so those fans are a year behind. And confused. So if you do post, I did warn you. Just don't ~ever~ ask if they're in purgatory! OMG, I feel for the brave fans who ask that question! The writers apparently came out early on and said no, they are not in Purgatory!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411008/board/threads/

And here's another neat site:

http://epguides.com/Lost/
(this will give you background info on already aired episodes).

Enjoy!!! I'm actually reliving getting into Lost, thru you!

Wow, what an episode!! I thought it was really good. The new sheriff in town or not, ya gotta love Sawyer with all his witty comments and nicknames. He called Hurley two in ONE sentence. lol

It was a pretty serious episode (aren't they all?) but one funny comment that will stick with me a while was when Sawyer said to Hurley that he was going to tell everyone about his ranch dressing hoarding through the Coconut Internet, or something like that. lol
I'll have to go back to get the exact quote. That whole exchange was funny, until Sawyer squashed the poor little frog. ewww

Did anyone see the picture that the U.S. soldier was holding? It looked like Kate a little younger. I guess I need to go back and look at that again too.

A very interesting episode...

Here is a little tidbit about the Hieroglyphics that were seen on the counter machine...

Also did anyone notice that was Kate's Father that payed of Sayid at the end of his mission with the US Army?

Also that Hurley ranch dressing scene was hilarious.

Well JQ, I did just mention in the post above you that I thought that was Kate in the picture the U.S. soldier was holding. I guess I had forgotten what Kate's dad looked like already, but I guess that confirms it.

The Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs link is interesting.

Anyone seen Wikipedia on the The Dharma Initiative? Since it looks like the Dharma Initiative will play a big role in next week's episode, you might want to refresh your memory with some info.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dharma_Initiative

I wonder when we're gonna see Michael and Walt again. Where are they and what are they doing every day? Are they together now?

So many questions... only one flipping hour a week!

Hey all - quick note. I just hit Post a Reply before even reading any replies here!!!!

I haven't watched yet. Oh I wanted to but we were up until 12:30, again, typing/revising Laura's term paper, due today. Then the Bibliography! I am dragging, dragging. Have to work later and wait for Laura to watch Lost with. She hates when I watch w/o her. I created this monster (her addiction!).

Sooooo.....I'll post later, after we watch. Discuss away!

I watched, I watched!

Okay, my comments. First off, that picture was of Kate, I know it. My daughter thinks I'm crazy but come on now, anytime a flashback shows a city backdrop, a diner, a picture, a book, a stuffed animal, it means something folks!!!! southflorida - you'll pay close attention for clues. BTW, can I ask your first name, I keep using your long member name! So that was Kate and that was her step-dad, not her bio dad, but she thought it was her bio dad - that will really confuse you southflorida...LOL

Next, is the guy from MN really an Other or not? Sayid seems so convinced he was/is. And I love how they brought Charlie into the story at the end. To imply Charlie has a decision to make - does he hang with the good people (our beloved Middies) or will he let that island disease take hold of him and he'll ~maybe~ turn into an Other?

Danielle - she took off again! Just where is this chick holing up?

Jack - sorry, but he is still my #1 Lost Character. He just went right for the victim, such a good guy. See those Others are going to need him someday soon and need his surgical skills. This is when maybe we learn why they are so frikking nuts!

Locke - wonder if he'll tell the rest of their group what he saw instead of the numbers? He's not a straight shooter, so who knows when he'll reveal this info.

Jin - loved the dis he gave Sawyer. As if to say, we saved your butt man and this is how you thanks us?

I thought I heard Jack put those bandages in a garbage can. As if there's a ready supply of cloth bandages at the local Walgreens. Now come on, you'd think they'd wash them in hot water, bleach and reuse them?

That poor little frog. The personal turmoil going on, on Sawyer's face. That pretty much says who he is - wanting to be good but resisting being decent and for some twisted reason, he continues to be bad. Hey I went for the bad guy when I was what.....16! I've grown up. Kate will turn away from Sawyer too. I was hoping they would have shown her distancing herself from him.

Next week looks really good! Not only will we see what really happened to Claire but maybe Hurley will put a place with Libby's face. She's a part of his past. You know it!

Southflorida - that episode when the tailies and middies (middle part of the plane survivors) are reunited made me cry. I had to watch it about 5 times. I loved the reunions of Rose/Bernard and Sun/Jin. It was wonderful to get these two groups together again. That ending scene on the beach with Charlie playing music gave me goose bumps!

TV Guide's Watercooler Lost Critique.....enjoy! You don't know how hard it was for me not to read this, until I watched last night's episode an hour ago!

TV Guide

http://www.tvguide.com/TV/Watercooler/

Lost
Wow. What an episode. Yet, as a viewer, I have the uneasy feeling that we, along with Sayid, are in the midst of a long con. Call me suspicious, but in an episode about truth and trust, I have to wonder, is Danielle trustworthy? The events of the evening were all orchestrated by a woman who, as Sayid reminded us, has set up the survivors of Flight 815 before. The show is moving back into harder-edged territory and I like it. Each week the power shifts. Sawyer made his move involving Charlie in a nefarious scheme that ended a tenuous friendship between Jin and his fellow castaway. Sawyer had to expect that having Charlie clobber Sun wouldn't sit well with Jin, who as we know can beat a man down. I can't wait for Jin to make his own power play. This week there were many alpha males with blood on their hands, and how it got there revealed their true pecking order on this island. Sure, Sawyer can squash a tree frog in his hand (as if that will solve his problems, because I'm sure there was just one frog on the island), but he's not cut out to lead. Hell, he could barely keep Hurley under control. Jack's hands have been bloodied before but always in the act of healing. Despite Locke's posturing, he's merely a follower easily convinced to hand over the combination to whoever seems strongest at the time — no blood on him. Sayid is the man who, when pushed to the edge of violence, does not shy away. Twice we've seen the stains of his handiwork and the price he's paid for this vigilance. In interrogating Henry Gale, supposed husband of the deceased Jennifer Murphy, Sayid almost had the tables turned on him over his grief for Shannon. Gale pushed the right buttons, but did Sayid lose it, or was he conning a con? I have questions because, like Jack, I'm not sure whom to trust. How is it that Danielle can catch one of the Others when no one else can even see them? Why didn't Danielle kill Gale? She said that she could have if she wanted to. Is she working with the Others? Do the Others need to get into that hatch? If so, does that mean the crash survivors are in a position of power, which they have yet to realize? Does the key to that power lie in the mysterious red and black symbols that appeared when the countdown clock zeroed out? Or do those symbols only appear when the wrong numbers are entered? 4, 8, 16, 16. Two more questions: Was Sayid's American captor holding a picture of Kate? (Thanks to the readers who pointed out that the soldier was actually Kate's nonbiological father.) And was the tableau of an abandoned Sayid standing at the side of a road in Kuwait a deliberate reenactment of Edvard Munch's "The Scream"? After tonight's show, I'm sure Sayid would like to. — Rhoda Charles

ok mary first off my real name is Nathan. The picture was of Kate and your not crazy... And it is kind of weird that it seems like they are all linked somehow in the in some of the flashbacks.

I think the new guy from MN is an other or something else more complicated. I think he might have been infiltrated into the hatch to get in.

The thing that bothered me when michael dissapeared was that he was talking to his son or someone pretending to be his son. I think that michael is going to play an important part coming up soon.

I hope that Charlie does not go to the other side and let the sickness take over him cause i like charlie but, I think he is weak and lets other losties tell him how to feel. I think that Claire should talk to him about what happend or they will lose charlie.

Danielle has been there for 16 years and I think she is working with "the others".

Locke has seemed to been taken advantage of in the past couple of episodes. I still think he has an hidden agenda... but, one the things that still freaks me out a little bit is how everyone is intertwinded and contected and I hope that we start to find out why they are on the island in the first place.

I can understand why Jin was hurt by what Sawyer did because he finally let go of being mean and selfish and started caring about other people. I think Jin will be very faithfull to all the people on the island. ... I think that Jin really can speak english and does not want to tell anyone.

There is more into the frog than let on... I think that Sawyer and Hugo are going to get sick from handling the frog.

I hope kate does distance herself from sawyer and I think that Kate will eventually want to stay on the Island.

The episode when the reunion really hit me hard too I wanted to cry also.

I also hope we have not seen the last of them having fun on the Island ...

ohhhh I also hate that Anna Lucia because she just gives me the creeps and I hope that her attitude changes.

Personally I was hoping that they would have a war with the OTHER's but, on the other hand I wonder why the others took who they took and where did they take them.
