WOW!! o'rielly at 8p says jessica lynch's amnesia is fake
he will be back at 11p eastern in a rerun of the show. he is not blaming jessica, but he is saying it is a military cover-up. he had 2 guests on also. one was col david hunt, a strong supporter of the military and the war and another guest. all 3 said they thought her amnesia was false. hunt and o'rielly both said that the military is not outright lying, but they are embarrassed about the details of her rescue. the other guest implied that the rescue was staged. but all 3 agreed she does not have amnesia. it is the military's doing, though, not hers.

Judiciously guarding our military's classified information makes excellent sense. Stamp it “SECRET,” the system takes over and lives will be saved. What patriot would quibble with that?
But calling stuff “"SECRET” to cover up Pentagon screw-ups that cost soldiers’ lives or to protect war racketeers’ pet scams violates what our country is about. Ditto the Pentagon-employed spin-meisters and the big bucks they waste annually hiding the truth from U.S. citizens unknowingly footing the bill for their deceptions.
The Pentagon's annual defense budget is about 500 times bigger than what our fleet-footed Public Enemies No. 1 and 2 – Saddam Hussein and his designated terror buddy Osama bin Laden – spent during the same period on things that go bang. My bet is that the military’s annual propaganda and promotion budget alone exceeds what these running dogs spent last year trying to do American infidels in.
And then there's the army of flacks, stretching from top military spinner Victoria Clarke, her Pentagon office minions and the hundreds of other damage-control experts scattered at rifle-company strength around that five-sided building, to the thousands of flacks in the field working at virtually every small unit in our armed forces.
For years I’ve tried to get the actual cost and number of bodies involved in running the Pentagon's con machine, only to be repeatedly stonewalled. The figures are buried in Pentagon double-speak that’s too cryptic for even Ralph Nader. But we’re talking enough folks – civilian and uniformed – to fill and fund at least an Army or Marine fighting division. No question they outnumber bin Laden's terrorists, and for sure they’re as busy.
For example, as I write this, tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars are being spent on covering up what happened to Jessica Lynch and her mates during and after their unit was ambushed and they were captured.
Soldiers from Jessica’s El Paso, Texas-based 507th Maintenance Company have been warned not to talk. A soldier in that unit said, “It's almost ‘say a word and you’ll be shot at dawn.’ ”
Jessica has been locked up in a private Walter Reed hospital room with an around-the-clock security detail normally reserved for high brass to ensure that what happened to her as a prisoner of war remains inside her room. Medical personnel who look after her have been given the same keep-your-trap-shut treatment as the 507th troopers. Almost daily her cover story changes from amnesia to partial amnesia to more recently: “She's blocked just the ambush event.”
I suspect more investigative journalists are on this story than the Laci Peterson murder. So, sooner or later, the truth will be told about Jessica and her 507th comrades-in-misfortune.
But maybe it won’t about another big cover-up, the war’s actual vehicle battle damage:
* 151 mighty Abrams tanks were hit. Most were repaired on the battlefield and rolled back into the fight. Three tanks took catastrophic hits from Russian AT-14 anti-tank missiles supplied by Dubya's barbecue buddy, and 12 others were damaged so badly they ended up in the junkyard.
* 16 Bradley Fighting Vehicles were destroyed, and 35 seriously damaged.
* 23 M-113 armored personnel carriers were melted, and 53 trucks were destroyed.
A light-infantry weapon called the rocket propelled grenade (RPG) – fired by the type of guerrilla enemy that caused the fathers of many of the drivers of these vehicles a lot of trouble in Vietnam – damaged or knocked out the vast majority of these vehicles.
The reason these figures have been classified at a higher rating than the contents of Rummy’s briefcase is that hungry porkers plan to phase out the Abrams and Bradley, replacing them with a new, multibillion-dollar wonder toy called the Stryker. But even casual analysis would show that if this thin-skinned wheeled vehicle had been used in Iraq instead of the Abrams tank, the much-hyped “shock and awe” would’ve been for naught, and the spinners would be working overtime to explain the debacle.
I can understand such deviousness going down in North Korea. But every time I happen upon it in America, land of democracy spelled with a capital D – where government is supposed to be working for the people instead of deceiving them with Hollywood-style smoke and mirrors – it’s always a blow to the heart.

I dont know that I truly believe she has it either... But I think they are totaly in there rights to say it.... don't you think maybe she dosent want everyone to know the details?? You can all imagine what she must of gone through.... Why shouldn't she be able to keep it a secret?? So again, I think there is a possibility that it is a cover up, but its a cover up to protect that beautiful emotionally drained young lady, who made a great sacrifice for EVERYONE.

the thing is why is the military keeping this secret? the longer they do the wilder the stories will get. i dont think anyone believes the amnesia anymore.
i see no reason not to say what happened. they released parts of the video, and i am sure the whole operation was and is on tape. as far as giving away secrets, i think that is bogus. anti-terror and rescue training occurs around the world every day.

The "controversy" about the rescue is merely a side note to a much bigger agenda: PFC Lynch's testimony about what happened to her and the 8 murdered (and I say this with utter confidence that it's true) 507th Maintenance Company comrades is THE salient factor.
What she may know at this, or any future time, will go a long way in prosecuting those responsible for war crimes in violation of Article XII of the Geneva Convention (not only the Iraqi military/"fedayeen Saddam", but the hospital staff who HAD to have been privy to, or have at least knowledge of the circumstances pertinent thereof), and I have NO problem with the security she has been granted.
"rainstorm", IMHO, the "right to know" stops with Jessi, her family, and the US Army Judge Advocate Corps who will be prosecuting those responsible. Period.

Imagine for a minute if the military released details of all of their missions. Do you think that for one second, we could feel secure knowing that the terrorists or whomever, knowing how the military would treat a certain situation, wouldn't capitalize on that knowledge? Let's get real. Being in the civilian ranks takes the need to know out of the equation. half of the time, on field excercises, the soldiers didn't even know the tactics until they needed to. It gave us the "edge" so to speak.
I think all of this coverup-conspiracy crap is a bunch of malarkey. there always has to be someone to question facts, and turn them around to make it look like someone else is a liar. What are these people gaining from this? Must be something pretty good, or what would be the reason for them to say these things.

As I believe I mentioned before, the Iraqi doctors and staff have good reason to lie; if they did 'spill", what Ba'athists are still around would kill them and their families, and/or they would subject themselves to coalition war crimes prosecution as, at the very least "accessories".
For them, it's a "lose-lose" proposition..of course they have to "spin" their statements, and all the better to anti-US press (BBC, The Guardian, Toronto Star, etc.).

I believe the details are trivial..For one it doesn't matter how..just that she is alive..Two..as some have said..The military wouldn't be wise to give specific details, as I am sure they follow a certain protocol on these missions and giving out the specifics would jeopardize..future missions and those carrying them out..I just think by the grace of God and those who rescued her..she is alive..leave it at that!!!

I feel so sorry for the entire Lynch family, especially that precious brave daughter of theirs.
This is none of their doing. Jessi is a sweetheart...everyone that knows her, that went to school with her tells me she's a kindhearted little country girl that loves children. She joined the army to earn her education and achieve her goal of teaching precious little kids...a most honorable career.
By no fault of her own, she ends up in a fight for her life in the middle of the desert thousands of miles from home...not a combat trained soldier, but a non combat supply clerk with no chance in h#ll against an enemy ambush. By a MIRACLE from God she survives, but is broken up like a porcelein doll that fell off the roof. Jessi has spent two months in the hospital recovering, in more pain than most of us could withstand (I nearly die from a toothache).
She's about ready to finally get those casts off her legs and soon walk normally again...hopefully. When folks should be so thankful and happy for Jessi, all you can hear about her in the media is "was the rescue faked"?, "Does she have amnesia"?, "Is she forgetting what happened to her to get a better movie deal"?, "Is the army blackmailing her and other menbers of her family"? etc.
I say let Jessi Lynch live the rest of her life in peace and quiet--- Regardless of how she was injured, she has more than earned the right to be left alone and not second guessed. Let her folks and friends nurse her back to health, get herself into college, and hopefully someday begin her goal of teaching America's leaders of tomorrow.
Ron Young Jr said the best therapy he could ever recieve was seeing the outpouring of love and friendship from all of us here in Douglas County (and no, he hasn't accepted my invitation to dinner yet, he's had too many other better offers
I hope Jessi Lynch soon finds out what Ron Young did the past few weeks; and what I already know....there's no place like home
