Sounds like some great gardens there!

I used to have one in my other house, but I wouldn't use all of the tomatoes I grew.

I just grow flowers. That and weather is what my whole existence is all about. Actually to simplify it I'm a nature girl.

OKRA???? GOD I "LOVE" okra breeze, just can't grow it here, not hot enough. I remember growing up and summer vacation would roll around, we'd visit my aunt in Midland Texas, she used to raise some *Killer Okra*.

Deb....I hear ya, owning a small landscape business, you'd think after working 50 hours a week doing other folks landscape and maintenance, we'd be SICK of it, on the contrary, you oughta see our yard, we've got more money invested in trees, shrubs, flowers etc than we have invested in the new house "LOL!"

That's GOOD eatin'! While we've got the fried catfish and fried
okra, we'd better just go on and toss in a big 'ole pot of
white beans, hushpuppies, and a side order of sliced vidalia
onions! Image

OK here is my veggie garden. I have 20 tomato plants - I got enough tomatoes already to make a batch of salsa. I have yellow squash, over 20 okra plants (my hubby loves okra), had a whole row of green beans - which I picked enough for three large pot of green beans - they have finished producing now - with the drought we had and then the rain last week - not enough to revive them. I have about 10 corn plants - got several ears on each plant. cucumber plants - finally found 5 baby cucmubers yesterday and finally a pumpkin patch for the little one to try her hand at growing a pumpkin. Whew its kept me busy - but the drought got to some of my plants - but have enjoyed it nevertheless.

Patricia

Dennis - I'll have okra coming out my ears in three weeks - let me know and I'll overnight you some good old Texas Okra!!!!

You guys are making me hungry.

I have ONE tomato plant and 16 strawberry plants.
Would you guys like a good old plate of roses or cosmos. No??? Well I have some nice Jacob's Ladder or maybe just a pansy. Actually you really can eat a couple of those.

Oh, heck, I'm gonna go out and buy some veggie plants.

My grandparents have a veggie garden. In fact, today we had new potatoes and green beans from it.

I know they have corn, tomatoes, squash, green peppers, watermelons, and cantaloupes as well out there.

I do, but it's kind of limping along with the weather so cold for the most part. Doing fair at best: squashes (winter & summer), tomatoes (several varieties), peppers (hot & sweet), carrots. Doing well, due to weather & raised bed placement - lettuces (off the charts this year!), spinach, kale and cabbage.

We had so much rain, last week, that, the garden is
just now dry enough to walk in. And, guess what?
I just picked two nice big green bell papers! Yum! :D
