Current conditions here in Memphis are a cold 23 degrees with sleet and some snow mixed in. Accumulations are very light, but not light enough to keep from having ice on the roadways. Secondary roads remain ice-covered at this time, while main roads are tending towards the "slushy" side due to traffic.
Apparently, howver, accumulations have not materialized to the point where warning criteria are going to be met. We are now under a WWA for the rest of the day. FWIW, we have been at or below freezing since slightly after 1:00 this morning.

I don't see it unless there is some additional development. However, the temp is continually dropping in Memphis. It is now a frigid 22 degrees as of 11:00....this temperature continue to go south so if anything should develop along the backside of the low, then yes, it could present a problem. The models have not forecast it though.

The winter storm warning for much of the Mid-South verified. My NWS Memphis friend on another board has confirmed this as sleet accumulations of 1/2" of greater do satisfy critiera for the Winter Storm Warning which many locations including Memphis and Shelby County did receive. This in addition to the freezing rain did allow the warning to verify.
The reason for the downgrade in the late morning was because the heaviest precipitation had exited and additional accumulations were expected to be light and by that time it was mostly over.
He also said NWS Memphis will be issuing a full report via PNS this evening with a storm total graphic on their website as they did with last week's event.
