go to channel 11 weather in dallas... theres an article that talks about the slick icy roads in the cities of dallas and fortworth... 200 motor accidents so far has been blamed because of the icy slick roads... i tried to print it on here, but i dont know how.. freezing drizzle is still being reported at dallas addison and fort worth nas as of 1242 pm.. and its been constant for 2-3 hours along with sleet and freezing rain and even some snow in arlington...

I am northeast of Dallas in Allen TX. We have not had any precip. yet. It is cold, we are just holding at 32 degrees right now. I am not really counting on anything else happening. I wish we could have at least had some rain as we need it so badly. Oh well, another winter event that looks like a non-event so far for us in the Allen/McKinney area.

what did u guys expect a big snow storm? freezing rain and sleet if you look outside its not going to be white.. the fort worth nws reported constant freezing rain and drizzle for Dallas fort worth from 9am to 12 pm and some spots in DFW are still reporting off and on.. arlington reported light snow at around 10pm for a good 30 min or an hour... look up channel 11 weather in dallas guys... 200 motor accidents have been reported in the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth... the northern suberbs may have gotten gyped with this batch of precip, but theres still 1 or 2 more wintry batches coming guys.... dont expect everything to be white outside this is mainly going to be freezing rain/drizzle and sleet, with a little snow here and there like arlington had around 11 am according to the fort worth nws and the fort worth nws is credible... i stay in fort worth and i saw a good round of freezing rain around 10 am and freezing drizzle and sleet off and on all morning really and still freezing drizzle off and on now...

wow...it turns out its been lightly "freezing misting" all morning...i have a little less than 1/10th of an inch on my plants, outside tables, and mailbox. I hear it may pick up a little around midnite...(i sure hope so) hopefully they put on the sprinklers on the golf coarse tonite..I wanna go sledding tomorrow(best thing to do in >1/4 inch of ice)

It's not about what I expected. You're reporting all kinds of wintry precip out in Ft. Worth and in other areas of the metroplex. All I'm saying is that I have gotten next to nothing in Rockwall. I certainly never expected a big snowstorm, in fact I never expected the inch of ice accumulation you predicted yesterday.

It might get colder, but your moisture is going to be diminishing. You're not going to get an inch of ice.

Can't help but think there's a lot of -removed- going on with you. But...if it makes you happy...go for it. :D

Not jealous at all. There's nothing to be jealous of. A chance of sleet and freezing rain? I've got that here too. In fact, even a slight chance of snow flurries here.

Here's the forecast for Ft. Worth

Tonight: A chance of freezing rain and sleet. Cloudy, with a low around 24. North northeast wind between 10 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Sunday: A slight chance of freezing rain and sleet before noon, then a slight chance of rain and sleet. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%

Here's my forecast in the NW suburbs of Atlanta:

Tonight...Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain...Light sleet and slight chance of light freezing rain in the evening...Then a slight chance of light rain...Flurries and light sleet after midnight. Lows around 30. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent.

Sunday...Mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain...Very light freezing drizzle and flurries in the morning. Highs in the lower 40s. Northeast winds around 10 mph in the morning becoming light and variable.

Jealousy factor = 0

But, if you're happy...that's what counts. :D

Jenny, I've seen hardly any freezing rain on the east side of Dallas. The precip must be concentrated and focused to the are west of me(which is all of DFW), because I'm seeing nothing like what plainsman is talking about. In fact, looking at the DFW NWS, other cities in the DFW CWA don't seem to have that kind of weather either. I don't know.

I know. I've done a little looking around at the conditions in the DFW area and I'm seeing what you are. I think we've just got a Ft. Worth poster who's really excited about this winter wx event.

Can't blame him. Anytime the possibility exists for some winter wx, it's exciting. ;) :D

I was not 'expecting' a snow storm or even an ice storm. I am just saying that in Allen, which is just slightly northeast of Plano we have not had any precip. No freezing mist, no ice pellets no nothing. I think everyone who has posted is just giving an idea of what conditions are like where they are. If you have been getting some precip out of this, fantastic. Just do not be offended if some of us have not had any at all and we post to that effect.

Believe me if I could will some wintery precip, I would be knee deep in snow right now. I kept getting up all night last night to check the weather outside as we were supposed to start seeing some freezing rain after midnight. So, yet today is a non-event so far for me and the rest of Allen. I have talked to friends here in the area and no one has seen anything. The road are all clear with no ice patches etc... Maybe we will get something later on this evening. Gotta keep the dream alive.
