Murdered because of toilet paper. You have to be kidding.

Leaving the toilet seat up is another matter. I feel it should be a first degree felony.

Wow, that is extreme but my guess is this was the final straw. There had to many more grievances than just running out of TP (you use kleenex in the meantime!), that preceded this murder.

Bizarre story, nonetheless.

The guy pulled out a rifle on him, so I guess it was the final straw. You die or I die. But still a pretty brutal death, gesh. I am sure he did not have to go as far as he did.

(Imitating Keanu Reeves) OK, Pop quiz, hot shot. You're at home with a roommate and you're fixing to use the restroom, but later found out there's no toilet paper left. What do you do? WHAT...DO YOU...DO?!

If I were him, and if that happened, I would've just gone to the store and get more rolls of toilet paper or if I'm out of money, I would've done what Miss Mary suggested and use Kleenex temporarily.

Honestly, why kill the person closest to you over no toilet paper?

Being old enough to remember the toilet paper shortage back in the early 70's after Johhy Carson made a joke about a possible toilet paper shortage because of recent gasoline shortages. The next few days were like a run on the bank. Grocery stores were actually limiting the amount of TP you could buy. It was a very tense time back then......MGC

Out of toilet paper rage

Sounds like a plausible defense. All they need is a psychologist to explain the anguish of being left high and dry.

I think that this situation is how the expression S*** out of Luck came into the common lexicon.

Man charged in killing over toilet paper

MIAMI, Florida (Reuters) - A Florida man has confessed to bludgeoning his roommate to death with a sledgehammer handle and a claw hammer after an argument that started over an empty roll of toilet paper, authorities said Tuesday.

Franklin Paul Crow, 56, was arrested early Monday and later charged with murder in the beating death of 58-year-old Kenneth Matthews in the small town of Moss Bluff, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Capt. Jimmy Pogue said Crow told investigators he grabbed the sledgehammer and claw hammer after Matthews, who rented the mobile home where the two lived, armed himself with a rifle during their altercation.

He later confessed to using the work tools to strike Matthews, who was so badly beaten he had to be identified through fingerprints, about 10 times, Pogue said.

"There were only two people there, Mr. Crow and Mr. Matthews, and unfortunately Mr. Matthews is deceased, so we pretty much just have to go by what Mr. Crow says," Pogue said. "He says that the argument started over an empty roll of toilet paper."

Crow was being held in the Marion County jail without bond. His court-appointed lawyer could not be reached for immediate comment.
