Hi Garrett. Please know that prayers are headed your way from the desert tonight...and I not only pray for your grandfather's comfort and rest, but for yours as well.

Be still, and do not be afraid. A caring heart beside him can calm the mind....and soothe a tired soul.

I just got back from the hospital and he is doing somewhat better. His oxygen level has come up a little in the last 12 hours. He is still very weak and isn't eating real well, but did enjoy a milkshake this morning about 10.

Oh, and Johnathon. You are older than I thought. Time for me to go  ! ;)

Thanks everyone for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Ah, a milk shake will cure anything! I'm so glad he's doing a little better. I hope and pray that he will continue to get better.
Take care, Garrett! (((((HUGS)))))

How true. :)

Baby steps are indeed what are being made, but I am so thankful for them.

You all are great... your pms and messages of encouragement mean so very much. They make the day brighter and my strength that much greater. :)

Hi everyone. I just walked in the door at home after my first day back in the classroom and guess who was waiting... my grandfather!!! The doctors have released him on the condition that he remain bedridden at home for the next 4-5 days and stay on oxygen full time. After that, we are to start lowering him off of the oxygen. I am so excited!!!

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts and prayers. I couldn't have done it without you. It still isn't easy...being home creates a whole new set of challenges, but it is so much better!

That is wonderful news, Garrett!! :D

Some books, magazines (large print if he prefers)...crosswords, newspapers and some cable TV in his bedroom and he'll be all set for that 4 to 5 day period! :)

Thanks everyone.

My grandfather continues to improve slowly. He made it to church this morning which is an important step for him. He still remains on oxygen full-time for now, but will likely come off of it Tuesday and go back to his usual routine of sleeping with it. He goes back to the doctor on Tuesday and then we will know for sure.
