Energy Drinks...anyone drink them?

#1 Postby therock1811 » Thu Feb 23, 2006 3:47 pm

Do you drink energy drinks like Red Bull, Sobe, etc.? If so which ones?

I drink Red Bull and once in a while MDX, the new Mountain Dew drink.

I tend to think they are an acquired taste. I generally go with tea which has a little bit of caffeine in it anyway.

Not sure if Gatorade fits into the category...but I used to drink it and make it for other employees when I worked at a tire tread and tire repair products factory.

I had one and will never ever try another. I had a bad reaction. I thought I was going to die. The irony of getting sick on a health drink was not lost on me.

They call it a sports drink but in my definition yes it would fit.

I don't think I would call it a health drink. I think I would call it a speed drink. Its like the caffine of 5 cokes in one drink, or 2 mountain dews. I hear that some drink them at last call at the bars instead of coffee to wake them up.

Oh yea I forgot about the yager bombs. We drink those at the bars sometimes. Had a few with Arkess I know. Its a shot of Yager and a glass of red bull. You drop the shot glass into the glass of redbull and them SLAM!!!

If I need a pick me up, I just make some Cuban coffee. It will put energizer in the energizer bunny.

Questions.....

1. There's a new Mt. Dew out?

2. What's the 5 hour energy drink sold at Walgreens, CVS, etc. pharmacy type stores all about? The radio ads I've heard, claim it's filled with vitamins and the equiv. of one cup of coffee. I'm skeptical!

Since I'm doing 7 hour round trip drives to and from my oldest daughter's college campus, I'd like to see if there's a relatively safe option to hot coffee (usually from Mc D's). I'm a Pepsi drinker most of the time, but that's not enough to keep me from getting sleepy. If I could find something to sip for these drives and they'd be safe for occasional trips like this, I'd try it.

Thanks!

Mary

Mountain Dew MDX is a new, healthier version of the original Mountain Dew. It's decent stuff.

As for number 2, I haven't heard of this one unless it's the one that Coke has put out called Vault.
