Mid Winter 2006 El Nino/La Nina Wrapup

#1 Postby MWatkins » Fri Feb 24, 2006 12:32 am

Just checking in...at this time of year there's very little immediate information to be concerned with other than...of course...what's happening with El Nino/La Nina. Although conditions have warmed at the surface in the east pac...sub surface there's not much significant change.

Using the new video card I've put together a wrap-up covering the current state of things including comparisons to the 1997 nino and the 1999 nina...

Been pretty busy with work in the last few months but I will check in when I can...

Excellent work there Mike.

Just seen your post about the satellites. Well EUMETSAT are due to launch some polar orbiting satelites. The first one is due to be launched this year which will help to cover any drop in coverage from NOAA satelites.

Thanks PK...you guys bailed us out with meteo 7 in the 90's...I have a feeling we will need your help again. I hope school is going well for you...

Also...I apprecaiate the positive feedback from everyone on this video presentation...it's so much easier to show the stuff as opposed to writing it up...

Also...Mark pointed out I said something at the end like "whelp there you have it no La Nina"...when in fact I meant no Nino...

Whoops.

You must have been desperate to use that, although I suppose the images were considered good quality at one point.

One thing I did notice but didn't want to point out. Where is "Austrailia"?

What he means is, "Austrailia" is not a word; it's misspelled. "Australia" is the correct way to spell it. Also, could you please not use "ur" in place of "You're"? It's kind of annoying.

Forget it, I don't want to bungle up Mike's great thread.
