That was the whole point of the movie-the turn of Anakin into Darth Vader and the birth of the twins and Anakin does NOT turn into DV at the end but when he is given the name earlier.

Why do I get the feeling that people don't understand that I was joking?

Saw it, loved it.

For me, it wasn't just the movie that made it good, but the experience. I didn't get caught up in the hype of Episodes I or II because I didn't see how they could be as good as the original trilogy. Plus, I was lost as to how they could go so far back and not lose us. But then I finally saw Ep I last week. Didn't get a chance to see Ep II, but my best friend got me caught up enough on the basic details. So, we went to see Ep III earlier this evening. And it was just the way I like to see a big blockbuster -- opening weekend in a packed theater. Everyone cheered as the "Lucasfilm" logo appeared on screen and the movie started, they cheered when some of the main characters first came onscreen, they laughed out loud and heartily at some of the comical Yoda, R2, and 3PO moments, and they applauded at the end. When the theater is packed and stuff like that happens, it just makes it that much more exciting and fun. Haven't seen a movie where that really happened (besides obvious laughter at comedies) since both Forrest Gump and Independence Day.

It still wasn't as good as the very first Star Wars. But it was definitely great. :)

I'm searching thru old topics, trying to find a specific one and saw this thread.

Must have missed your final post on this thread Duckie!

We got into the last 3, the prequel trilogies this past summer. I joke it was a Star Wars summer around here.....we have a big screen TV in the basement with surround sound. To hear that dun dun dun to dun start up, gives me chills everytime! Laura asked for the original trilogy for xmas.

My favorite SW remains, A New Hope - what I'll always refer to as simply - Star Wars (b/c that was its original title!).

My favorite character remains, Luke. Never Darth.....er uh, now we say Anakin. Poor Padme is all I can say. To fall in love with him.....

I often wonder if George Lucas ever wakes up and has a day free of Star Wars thoughts? I've read it's taken over his entire world, etc. Doh! But he always got divorced somewhere along the way, around the time of Empire.

Yeah, that was a good movie, saw it in theaters a couple of weeks after it came out. Waiting for a 3-pack of episodes 1-3 before I buy it on DVD though so I can put it beside my 3-pack of 4-6.

My daughter asked for 4-6 for xmas. It was great to finally have these movies on DVD but I wish I could watch the originals just once more, without all the edits George Lucas made. For example, at the conclusion of Jedi! That was a nice touch but why not show the older actor, w/o disfurigation too, in addition to Anakin. And without the cities he added. Oh well, they are his movies, guess he has that right. I still wish A New Hope was titled Star Wars too!
