Wow ... just fired up GRW and took a look at the radar out of KEAX ...

The base velocity signature on that cluster of cells heading through SE Kansas toward Kansas City looks real nasty, and the trailing cell is building big time ...

Hope everybody is paying attention and staying safe.

Storms really firing over SE Kansas right now - already have a report in of 1.75" hail, and radar currently indicating a couple of mesos out there. Also some extremely high VILs - as in values of 73!

o boy, it looks like the line is going to extend south pretty rapidly...I'd say that by 5 today, I maybe in the the path of a severe thunderstorm(hopefully nothing tornadic)

I doubt it - there still isn't any precip south of the KS/OK border, and the nearest stuff to that border took about two and a half hours to become severe. I know you'd like to see some stuff, but I think you're out of luck today. If you're lucky, you might get a little isolated thunderstorm, but nothing severe (IMHO).

I concur... the conditions that far south aren't as ripe.

That is my prediction; I wouldn't be surprised to see the supercells reach all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Even up in central Ontario (where I am), it is warming up rapidly - into the 50s - and the front is supposed to be just north of here (separating the snow and 20s from the rain and 50s+).

In our area, we jumped from 55 to 67 in one hour. Storms are off to my south and west (50 miles).

Funnel cloud reports coming in now for the southernmost cell in SE KS - but tornado warnings are out for all three. These storms are also very moist! VILs on all three are high and they are dropping at least 2" of rain an hour on some spots as well as 1.75" hail being reported. These cells should stay well south of KCMO area, luckily.

Actually, a couple of those cells are projected to go toward Cass County, MO... which is the southern suburbs for KC.

Oh - I see they are now. Couldn't see those storms from the Tulsa radar, and I just noticed that KEAX stopped updating data about an hour ago. Let's see - radar up, and, yep, KC is going to get nailed! My error there . . . don't know what happened with GR3.

Strange ... I'm getting up to date data from KEAX.

Cell headed towards Iola looks impressive. New tornado warning up for that one.

Man... if I didn't have to work today, I'd take a trip back to KC--where I was born and raised.

Yeah, it's coming fine now. I just think the software jammed up. I've that copy sitting on KEAX since 9am this morning, so it was probably just getting tired

And that Iola cell has to have a pretty bad tornado in there - that SRV is not pretty.
