I must say... thank goodness this is spring break for a lot of college students. Columbia is where the University of Missouri is and Warrensburg is where Central Missouri State University is.

I have GRAVE concerns for the Springfield IL area -- spotters are continuing to forward reports of a significant tornado to the city's SW moving NE.

AT 809 PM CST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR AND STORM SPOTTERS WERE TRACKING AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR NEW BERLIN...OR ABOUT 14 MILES SOUTHWEST OF SPRINGFIELD...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.

Sirens blowing in Springfield with a large tornado approaching the city in the next 3 min or so. Major league bad situation right now -- city's pop is over 110,000.

Radar as of 820 CST.
