AT 829 PM CST...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A LARGE TORNADO IN CHILHOWEE. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR CHILHOWEE...OR 13 MILES SOUTH OF WARRENSBURG...MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH.

Been watching the CBS affilate here. They are tracking that storm going thru northern Henry/southern Johnson County MO. I have been thru that area several times. It is pretty rural but nonetheless there are homes out there.

Heard on the CBS affiliate here that one person was killed in the tornado that hit Sedalia late this afternoon. Two people are missing and five are injured.

The public radio stream is indicating the tornado is skirting east of Springfield....

I haven't heard that but I'm not surprised. That looked like at least an F3.

Tornado 5 miles west of Arrow Rock, MO... spotter saw funnel, then heard a roar and thought he saw contact with the ground.

AT 839 PM CST...TRAINED WEATHER SPOTTERS REPORTED A TORNADO 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF ARROW ROCK IN EASTERN SALINE COUNTY. RADAR SHOWED THIS STORM MOVING TO THE EAST AT 50 MPH.

The tornado report on the south side of Springfield (the one with the roofs damaged) was changed to a Tstorm damage report. Not sure if that was on purpose or just trying not to cause too much panic.

The severe weather threat is over for the immediate metro KC area. I don't ever recall a day like this. I woke up to severe weather to my west shortly after 8. I am still tracking severe weather off to my south ad east. This has gone on all day long.
