We have some next door neighbors here at our townhouse community neighborhood who reside part of the time in Syracuse and other part here in Raleigh...they are big SNOW lovers so they spend a great deal of time up there.

Yeah. I've heard they take care of sidewalks really well up there during snow which is a HUGE plus.

If money weren't an issue, which it isn't for me, I'd move to Kansas!
Why Kansas? Just curious since I was born there and have some relatives there still. I've never thought of Kansas as a place to move to.

Yeah, Destin is a little overdeveloped but I still love it. We had a beachfront condo and it was just so peaceful and relaxing to just sit on the balcony and hear the waves crash. The water was such a perfect emerald green. But, I was paranoid the whole time in Destin trying to get in the water. A girl that lives less than an hour drive away from me got killed there from a shark attack. She died on my birthday which was June 25th. Only a month and a half before we went to Destin. I still got in the water though but did not go far out. And was looking around constantly to see if I saw fins or any black blobs around me. I rather stick to the pool where I feel safe. I agree the traffic is a nightmare especially along HWY 98. But, it is just as crazy here in Houma because we are getting overdeveloped as well. And money would definitly have to be no option, because Destin is VERY expensive! You can't even go out to eat without spending at least $20 unless you just stick to fast food.

Move to Xenia, Ohio! They've been hit by tornadoes so many times. One nearly wiped the town out in 1974. Of course I'm sure it doesn't compare to twisters out in say Kansas but when you said Tornado Alley, I immediately thought of Xenia, Ohio. Ask anyone from around here about Xenia and they'll say, oh you mean the town that always seems to get hit by a tornado?

Key West would be another desired location for me. I hate the cold. And love anything tropical. Love the beach and love being near the water. Hurricane prone or not. I just know Florida is my favorite state and I can never get enough of it. Virginia comes in as a close second. I went there on vacation once when I was 15 with my mom, dad, and brother. It was beautiful there. I loved the Williamsburg area and Virginia beach. And Shenendoah National Park was breathtaking!
