What hurricanes do you think will be the worst for 4857?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Hurricane Saddam Hussein will eat the eastern alf of the US

Yes, the insane threads being created are annoying.

Don't just post for the sake of posting!

Well, now part of it is bumping up threads with inane posts and making them in general.

we don't need threads bumped from 3 years ago with 37 versions of the same question asked

and

there is no such thing as a hypercane. please get off that boat before it blows up.

OK, I'll lend some credibility to this thread.

If the flooded areas in NOLA were in Boston, it would be like this:

OK... sorry for doing a hypercane scenario in the thread for doomsday storms. I only did it because someone else did it. I know it won't happen. Forget the hypercane now...

:D Bravo Doc!!!

What Ixolib says is true, too. However, is it a good idea to allow habits to form that must suddenly be squelched when things get busy? I really wonder about that. Human nature being what it is, and busy hurricane season being what it is, that's the worst possible time to try and suddenly educate and train users to reduce repetitive, innocuous, and "look how many posts I've racked up" type of postings, along with giant pictures rather than links, and overly-busy, wide, slow-loading icons. At that time, the mods are soooo busy just keeping things going along, and we depend upon them so much. It would seem prudent to groom good forum habits before the ___ hits the fan!

Good points too, GAL :uarrow: :uarrow: :uarrow: ... And especially good is your observation of the HUGE pics and LARGE avatars!! Thankfully, David (VBHOUTEX) offered some good "advice" this morning on another thread concerning just that issue. Hopefully, it did/does some good...

As much as some of the multiple posts along the same line or on the same type of subject can be bothersome, we try not to "CONTROL" what our members post(except no politics or personal attacks). What I am saying is we do not want to discourage discussion in most situations.

As has been stated above, when season hurricane becomes more "heated" the staff will be more forceful in our "control" of the board. That is done so that all can enjoy the site and because with literally hundreds of members on line and posting at one time sometimes we do need to save our bandwidth as much as possible for "pertinent" discussion.

Trick question. In 4857, we'll be in the grip of an ice age and SSTs will be too cold for hurricanes :(

False ... the earth would have been destroyed by multiple attacks from an alien planet because Iran launched a space age missle and attacked planet Z31. All because the world didn't stop them when they had a chance in 2006. LOL!!!
