This article in the New Orleans Times-Picayune states there are actually fewer communities better prepared than New Orleans as far as flood insurance is concerned.

No joke. Rent here is now pretty much equivalent to the San Francisco Bay Area.

hey rent sucks here too and we didn't get devastated by Katrina. My rent for a two bedroom apartment went from 1,159/month to 1,500 next month. Yeah I would say a little rediculous and we are moving into a friends condo. They are nice enough to rent it to us with no security deposit and only first payment.

And I mean over here I have a roommate who is a smoker and during late nights he burned a few holes in the carpet, which is bad but our security deposit WAS supposed to cover it.

But now the tenants are asking for us to pay for the carpet, despite the fact that they'll have to rip it all out after I move out anyway.

Is ANYONE not out to rip us Lousiana People off anymore? lol.
