#1 Postby PTrackerLA » Mon Jun 02, 2003 1:48 am

Doesn't look too good for rain around here this week. SE Tx'ers/LA members, do yall think we'll get the desperately needed rain this week? My water bill is going to be ridiculous just trying to keep our lawn and garden alive!

I doubt it.

But maybe, just maybe, the fact they even have a slight chance up there every day is the beginning of the end of this marathon dry spell.

We hit 98º here yesterday. We may have a good shot of rain tomorrow. 70% chance of locally heavy rain possible. We need a good soaking so let the rain begin.

Without looking further into the models and their progs I can tell you that NO has a better chance than the rest of us with this possible scenario as it is expected that this/these disturbances will track further east and inland if and when they develop. We are still in the zonal flow that is taking everything to our N or S. Our chances are at 30% today and we actually have clouds in the sky too! Yesterday we were in the upper 90's again with a 98.2 here at the house. Galveston was much cooler with it's sea breeze!!!

Hope it follows thru, cause we are parched over here. Looking forward to a good thunderstorm.

There's actually quite a few showers on radar and the sky is full of nice tropical looking clouds. Hopefully we'll get a good little soaking today.

I just received about a .10" of rain with a thundershower at my house (which is more than I received for the whole month of May!) We have a rather large thunderstorm just to our south poised to move in. Lots of thunder and lightning out there. Check out our radar http://www.srh.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p19r0/si.klch.shtml
I guess someone was listening to our prayers for rain after all! I might even have to change my avatar!

I know bfez, this came as a big surprise. We've picked up .50" so far and another storm is about to move in. I'm sure New Orleans will get their turn later today if not then tomorrow. I swear the grass already looks greener.

About an inch of rain so far at my house but some parts of the city have picked up nearly 2 inches. This is the most rain we've had in about 2 months! the storms keep firing and "training" over Lafayette Parish so we could get more. I hope everyone else who needs rain desperately gets what they need.
