Who got their freee water ice today?

#1 Postby angelwing » Mon Mar 20, 2006 8:20 pm

Rita's Water Ice opens on the first day of spring and gives away free water ice from 12-9 here in PA, so here I am waiting in 28 degree weather with about 200 other fools getting my free water ice for the hubby (chocolate) and orange creme for me.

ANyone else brave the elements for their freebie?

Never heard of water ice. Interesting. But I think if it was 28 degrees I am not sure I would be as brave as you. And then on top of it eat something thats as cold or colder than the air. Brrrrrrr. Good luck, hope it was worth the wait. :D

Doesn't appear that there is any Rita's Water Ice in or near my city area.

Wow that looks so yummy anglewing. Nothing like that around here, I wish there was somewhere that served Frozen custards, Gelatis, and creme ices. Really sounds good. And for the soft prezel.........ummmm, one of my favirote foods, I love a good soft pretzel. Yummy.

Get some pals together and open up a franchise...with your weather, you'd make a killing, it cools you off better than ice cream or even water on a hot humid day, trust me! (I'm sitting here with a sweatsuit jacket on, a comforter and no fingertip gloves on, I'm so cold :D

We have a chain of ice cream stores in Raleigh called Goodberry's and they are known for "Banana Concrete" which my folks and I enjoy. :) Has actual pieces of fruit in it which makes it a little more healthier, too. :)

I have heard Rita's is very good. I was just reading up on their franchises on Sunday! Was thinking it might be worth it if I lived where it was warmer for a longer period of time.

Sorta but not quite, a snowcone is for lack of a better term, "sharper", as the ice pieces are hard. Water Ice (especially Rita's)is very smooth with pieces of real fruit it some of them (Black Cherry is my fav)and it is soooo good! I can't wait till it warms up to try one of their creams, thats new (and of course with a Philadelphia soft pretzel)

I was craving a snowball today. The weather was picture perfect. Sunny and 77 degrees. So, I had to drive to 3 different places before I found one open. My first snowcone this spring season! I tried Cotton Candy today.

We dont have Ritas here, but really sounds like one should be here!! We have great weather almost year round! My favorite place up north was a place called Dell's Frozen Lemonaide... My god. it was like heaven!! When I go back home I always get a Dells and a pretzel stick!! Down here, I have really learned to like Ben and Jerrys.. They have an ice cream called Chololate Therapy... It really is!!!
