Are people wishing this year?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Seems like everyone is eyeing some location. How many more posts will read "NORTHEASTERN MAINE" then the postee is from northeastern Maine.

I voted yes...I think alot of people want the time off from work and school and I bet you that very few people that wishcast have actually been in a major hurricane....(poll coming)

I don't mind a weak hurricane or tropical storm but I don't want a major hurricane that causes utter devastation where I have to move because you don't even recognize where you live anymore :(

It still cracks me up that wish-caster turns into wonderful forecaster.

Even if they are, they have to put the S2k disclaimer on every wish-casting post.

Why ask this question? It happens so often. I really don't care if someone wishes for one or against one. I do care about what people are thinking and I think that is what makes this site so great!

I still have not lost my thrill of experiencing a hurricane but by no means do i want one...was just on Pensacola beach today and we still have a ways to go but we are coming back so anytime I get that urge of wanting to experience a hurricane i think of the ruin that comes with it and how long it takes to get back to normal

I think of the two weeks of NO POWER and the HEAT! I might buy a small room A/C and hook it up to the generator for one room just for hurricanes...it is that bad!

I hate the after effects of a hurricane, and I hate to hear about huge amounts of damage and people dying, but for some reason the beauty and power of a hurricane still amazes me. There is nothing like witnessing such a powerful act of nature hitting your area, and thinking: "wow, I can't believe that it is 2006 and we are so technologically advanced, but nature still can overpower us."

Please define what you mean by -removed-. I'm serious. I have not seen a lot of what I consider wishcasting-there are a few exceptions admittedly, but not what I have seen in the past. Am I missing something here?

Discussing the possibilities and/or the trends one has noticed is a lot different than what I define as -removed-. Obviously none of us has a crystal ball to tell us what will happen this year. PRAY FOR ALL FISHIES!!!!

No not necessary wishing for one but being prepare for one if it comes this way. Discussing them is not necessary wishing for one if it is done in a proper way. It would be nice to see all tropical systems this year to be fishes but that is just a dream.
