The 60 minutes piece showed several examples of reports which came back from the White House heavily edited by lawyers (not scientists) to remove conclusions and introduce the appearance of greater doubt.

Look at any historical stratosphere data regarding ozone levels and the overall temperature anomalies. Less ozone correlates with a colder stratosphere. You can argue about the chicken and the egg of course.

Yeah I saw that. Pretty pathetic. Nothing like have your thoughts censored.

Well first of all, yoru claim was that ozone depletion leads to global warming, not cooling. Second, cold weather results in a reduction in ozone levels, explaining why there is always less ozone when the stratosphere cools.

I responded to what you had said. You mentioned that you have no idea how ozone depletion could effect GW. I told you how it could be possible. As far as temps and ozone reduction. Your looking at it from one way and your probably thinking about what you have heard in reference to extremes in the polar vortex etc...Ice crystals... There is a relationship between ozone and temps all over the globe, away from the poles. Nobody can say for sure that the lower ozone levels are being caused by a colder stratosphere. It can easily be the other way around. Like I said it's the chicken and the egg.

There was a weather expert on CNN today saying that Global Warming is THE MAIN factor in determining the number of hurricanes in the Atlantic Basin, and that hurricane numbers have been increasing since the 1950s. Guess she never heard of El Nino, Wind Shear, or the fact that there were very few hurricanes in the 1970s - early 1990s. What a total load of BS
