This is probably overestimated by around 50-60, even so, that lands us with ~110 tornadoes. Frighteningly, this is comparable to the 115 from May (that is a final count). And another event could easily push our tornado total well past that.

For comparison, the three-year average for March is 49 tornadoes, and for May 389 tornadoes.

and also, I've added quite a few recent tornadoes to the list, including an F2 that hit Uvalde, TX last Sunday.

I looked at the page yesterday night. March has 88 confirmed tornadoes, 48 which were from March 12. I say once all is done there should be about 95 tornadoes confirmed up to today. We'll see if March 2006 can beat May 2005.

Is that list going to be just for the US or for worldwide (at least wherever you can get reports)?

As of now, it's just gonna be for the US. I may eventually add a second page for world events but that will be well down the road.

The only place I know of with a good tornado information system is Canada - they will occasionally post General Weather Statements after tornado events.

I agree...I find that site to be a VERY important resource...the most valuable after the NWS sites.

I can confirm at least 45 tornadoes so far for the month of April, with the yearly total sitting at 200 as of now. Still am missing a couple of from the 4/2/06 outbreak and should have them in there by this time tomorrow.

Confirmed Tornadoes of 2006

Death toll for the year already at 37 with somewhere in the vicinity of 350-400 injuries.

Over 100 tornadoes for April -- will be adding tonights IA tornadoes as soon as damage assessments are complete, which I assume will be tomorrow afternoon/evening.

yeah the state totals of the yearly summary section is the part that I update the least, primarily because I am focused on the information categorized by month. The state totals by the month are completely accurate, just totalling them at the bottom is something that I have clearly fallen behind on lol. I definitely appreciate you taking the time to comment on this, and hopefully in the future, the yearly state totals will be more frequently updated.

400 tornado reports. Not the same as a confirmation. Many tornadoes get reported more than once or turn out to be false (wind damage mistaken for a tornado or a funnel cloud that turns out to never touch down).

I've counted 6 Nebraska tornadoes on there, and you say they only have 3. Might want to change it.
