Whats for dinner?

Took the easy way out, a little....
Hamburger Helper
Fresh green beans
Corn bread, from scratch
Fruit salad
When I need only a half pound of ground beef, I still brown it all and freeze half. Then when I need a simple meal as above, it's fully cooked and frozen. Easy-easy.
My family grumbled though......but they were hungry so they ate it. Nothing says you're taking the easy way out as saying - Hamburger Helper! I still crack up after driving teens around, hearing this conversation among Nina's then age 16 year old friends.
I tried making dinner for my family.
Wow, that was nice of you! What did you make?
Hamburger Helper with a sigh.
What happened?
Another sigh..... I didn't know you needed hamburger to make it! LOL

We had some spanish rice thing I made up. Zatarians spanish rice(cooked with onions, garlic and bell pepper). When it was done I added diced up chicken breasts, I also threw in some corn, grn. chilis, and black beans, also a handful of cheddar cheese. Stirred it all up and DING, dinner was served.
Also had a salad to go with it. It was a pretty good off the top of my head meal. All in one pot and had everything you needed in it, and all the kids liked it. Big bonus.

Sushi! At my favorite restaurant - Yamato's!
The world is safer, healthier, and just a bit more pain-free because one heck of a smart, caring healthcare worker just graduated from the UTMB School of Nursing with high honors (top 5%). And then said graduate invited lil' ole me to join the celebration at Yamato's. Me? Turn down sushi? Are you kidding??? Me? Turn down that smile?? Those eyes?? *faints* Never!
Be still my heart....

Just decided. Tonight is "drunken chicken" on the grill. One of the easiest, and best tasting ways to cook a whole roasting fryer. Also, a side dish pasta and salad.
Since there is a chance of bad weather here later today, and possiply heavy downpours at times, it requires few trips to the grill on the back deck, which isn't roofed over.
