How high was Kat's water in your area?

No idea. During Frances and Jeanne, we were in the southern eyewalls, so the storm surge was extremely small, maybe 4 feet?

I don't think your question is clear. Are you asking only about Katrina? If you are, then there is no need for this thread. The surge from Katrina has been discussed, cussed and a few other things in several threads.

If you are asking anyone who was affected by a hurricane this past season what surge they experienced then I say go ahead with the answers.
could you please clear this up for us?

We didn't have much surge, but we did pick up a thick cirrus deck from it.

I still don't know what the heck this thread is about. If you get a surge normally, just go to Radio Shack and purchase a surge protector. It saved my TV and PC in the last lightning storm.

Ooops...nevermind. I didn't see the original post was edited :)

No surge from Kat in my local area, but from Rita, just 5 miles south, the surge was around 15 feet.

22 feet at my front door, of which the threshold/sill is at 19.5 feet above sea level. High tide that morning kicked my butt...

Believe it or not, we actually got a few feet in Sarasota from Katrina. The surf was almost up to the roads on most of the barrier islands. The storm was never closer than 100 miles away.

what i'm asking was how high was Katrina's surge on the gulf coast from a personal perspective instead of what some government agency like FEMA says.i'm not asking for a debate.
