COlor me skeptical. Despite many claims (not just here, all over the media) I have never seen proof that illegals are burdening our schools, hospitals, or prisons. In fact, any illegal caught breaking a law would immediately be deported, because that's one of the few instances where the government has the legitimate authority to check for immigration status.
We have a set LEGAL policy for the Cubans and Haitians and they follow the rules. The people south of our border sneak in illegally. They don't even apply for work permits before coming in. We need a set LEGAL policy for those people too.
You have just highlighted a big problem in our immigration policy. IMHO, if the Mexicans had a legal way to enter like the Haitians and Cubans do, they would stop entering illegally (and dangerously) on people's private property. If they had a good chance of getting in legally, they'd go through the established checkpoints. They certainly don't risk their life crossing in the desert because it's fun to do.
