over ridges.
Tonight: Brisk with rain and snow...heavy at times. Snow level 7000 feet
lowering to lake level. Snow accumulation 4 to 8 inches at lake
level...with 10 to 20 inches above 7000 feet. Lows 29 to 34. Southwest
winds 15 to 25 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Over
ridges...gusts up to 60 mph.
Tuesday: Snow. Snow accumulation 6 to 10 inches at lake level...with 10
to 20 inches above 7000 feet. Highs 36 to 46. South winds 10 to 15 mph
with gusts up to 50 mph over ridges.
Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Lows 18 to 28.
Southwest winds around 10 mph. Over ridges...gusts up to 45 mph in the
evening.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow showers. Highs 34 to 44.
West winds 10 to 20 mph.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy. Lows 18 to 28.
Thursday: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers. Highs 41

Wow. That's 30-55 inches above 7500 feet through tomorrow, with 10-18 inches at lake level! The stormy pattern in the West shows no signs of stopping, either. The Tahoe area had a near record snowy March and April looks no different. The storm moving through right now is massive and slow-moving.

Note that it says 115mph "over the ridges" and in the city they should only see 40-50mph wind gusts.
Here is an idea of what 100-115mph gusts can do though (these pics are from Hurricane Charley in Orlando):
Luckily they do not build cities or plant non-evergreen trees on those ridges. Either way...I would not want to be up there when those gusts came through!
