So Libby is a nut also huh? She said she was a psychiatrist and she well could be one just not practicing. It is interesting that was in the hospital with Hurley. How about Locke letting that other tell him how to think and feel. Seems to me that Locke is easily influenced by other people. That was funny when Hurley beat the crap out of Sawyer.

1. - I forgot to add 5 minutes to our DVR recording. And since we started watching late, after 10, of course we missed the last part. If someone could tell me how Hurley and Libby's conversation ended on the beach, anything after that and previews for next week, I'd most appreciate it!
2. - whoa, whoa and double whoa! Are we to believe what Hurley's made up friend Dave said, to be the story of Lost? This is a show, based on one character's schizophrenia? I was watching with my daughter Laura and we're both sitting there, as Dave is explaining everything, and we were just stunned. I looked at Laura and said - okay, that's it, it's all in Hurley's head? Do we stop watching now? LOL No, we don't. But come on, would the writers reveal the real story now, mid Season 2? Doesn't make sense! You hold that out for years to come!!!
Question - do you all believe this is the story?
3. - I'm reading posts on another board and I see that Libby was a patient when Hurley was there. She changed her hair color? Something like that. So that's creepy. Why is she on the island? Oh yeah, it's all in his head!
This reminds me so much of how they explained away 8 seasons of St. Elsewhere. The finale showed major character Dr. Westphal's autistic son David, shaking a snow globe. And inside the snow globe was the hospital St. Eligius where St. Elsewhere was set. The show was all in young David's imagination. Of course you know it's fiction but fans felt duped!
Let's see what else.....4. - I think Eko is building a church.
5. Hurley beating up Sawyer - hilarious.
6. Kate flirting with Sawyer, in just about every scene now. Not nice interaction or even polite disgust at his selfishness but now it's almost pure lust. I want her with Jack!
7. Locke - I think he's starting to doubt his newfound miraculous abilities on this island. That's why faux Henry can divert Locke's attention.
8. What did faux Henry mean when he said the whole island was a joke. And the guy with the beard (Zeke) was nothing. Does he mean Hurley's in charge or someone else and this isn't all in Hurley's head?
9. Finally, I loved Jack's comeback when Locke kept yelling - Jack, Jack, Jack - and he just said - I have it under control John. You can tell Jack is growing weary of having to answer to Locke!

"You know what tastes better than freedom? Cheeseburgers." Even if Dave doesn't really exist, he's got a point. This entire episode has me wondering if the island is really is in Hurley's mind. I mean if Libby was in the institution with then he could have imagined a blonder version of her too. I wouldn't put it past the writers of this show to bring it up as a possibility, shoot it down and then have it be a twist. There was that deserted island poster right above Hurley's head during therapy. But regardless of if it is just a big elaborate fantasy in Hurley's mind, or something more based in reality, it is utterly fascinating and it just keeps getting better, and I'm not just saying that because it was a Hurley-centric episode. But still, it was awesome to see him tackle Sawyer. He used that weight that the island won't "let" him lose to his advantage. No one seemed to have any sympathy for Sawyer, but that's probably because he's known for his offensive comments: "I've got enough food to open a mini-mart. Hey, you think Sayid needs a job?" Anyway, back to Hurley, he finally got smooched by Libby. Though their almost kiss after their food "fight" was more adorable. I did think it pretty intriguing that Hurley ran across the numbers before he met the Connect Four obsessed Leonard. His accident was on a deck that was meant to hold eight people and crumbled under the weight of 23. Feeling responsible for the deaths of two people would have driven me a little bit batty too, and I'm sure if I had an imaginary friend he or she would use Star Wars references to convince me of their existence. "Uh, Kinkos, Photoshop... What you think they really blew up the Death Star?" Oh, and was Hurley's stint in therapy before or after his job, because he claims that he likes chicken, and after uttering "Have a cluckity cluck cluck day" over and over, I'm guessing that chicken wouldn't be one of the three things he likes most in the world.
The addition of Henry Gale has really put a great twist on everything. His revelation that he didn't put in the numbers into the computer(though he still could be lying) is sure to drive Locke absolutely bananas and that should be fun to watch. Also his speech that "God doesn't know how long we've been here. He can't see this island any better than the rest of the world," was just downright creepy. But the most important thing he said was that the guy with the beard is a no one. So if DeGroot isn't mystery island's head honcho, does that mean Hanso is somewhere around, or is there another Other?

Hello? Where are my Lost buddies.......
My daughter rushed home from school to scour message boards. She found a blow up of the map, clearer than the one I saw in Entertainment Weekly. What have I created? he he Anyway, she said her friends at school reject the easy answer to all of this - that this is all in Hurley's head. It isn't. Most are back to a medical or science experiment - gone bad, real bad.
We also heard that it will be reshown on a Dayton, OH channel that we can pick up on an old TV, on Saturday. So maybe I will catch the last 5 minutes. We also got a blow by blow description of what we missed - I think I'm all caught up now!

I rejected the idea about it[Lost] being all in Hurley's head, because the producers had previously indicated it wasn't a dream or something a la "Identity" (the movie with John Cusak, Ray Liotta).
Poor Sawyer, he thought he was the one in control with guns and medicine . . . and in two episodes, Jack got back the medicines and taunted Sawyer about getting control of guns and then Hurley beat him up. .. he's getting no respect, is he?

Sorry Mary, seems I have a bulls eye that lights on the back of my car when I hit the brakes
Been on pain meds....
I don't think it's in Hurley's head. The Dave thing has me confused, but I wonder if he's a ghost rather than Hurley's imaginary friend? I kept thinking back to Jack's dad's ghost appearing to him when they first crashed.....

Hey, that's okay. Been busy here too. I hope you feel better Cindy!
I kept remembering how Jack saw his dad and his dad was already deceased. So maybe Dave is too. He could have died after Hurley left the hospital?
It's just way too obvious that this is the Lost explanation. The writers wouldn't reveal all their answers now! Makes no sense.

I don't think it is all in Hurley's head either. You know the island "makes" you see things that are not really there. Jack's Dad, the horse, the polar bear, etc.....several things. Some of these were before they ate any of the food because they hand't found it yet so I don't think it was contaminated. I think if you really listened to the sounds that Locke was hearing on the intercom it was telling them it was gonna lock down and then it had a backwards count down, so "they...I assume the Dharma" people didn't want them to see the plane that dropped the food down or the people that dropped it to see the others. I know the people were on the beach but would they have all been in thes shelters? It was night time, right? Remember Ana knocked Sayid's hand so he didn't shoot "henry" or who ever he is. Never liked his eyes at all.
I try and look at everyone I see and sometimes don't see the obvious cause I am looking tooooo hard for the subtle things. But I didn't notice in watching the second time that the safety deposit box was 1516.
One thing for sure, ABC has a hit with Lost cause it keeps everybody guessing as to what is going on.
Oh Mary I think he is a building a church too
If you remember Hurley said after he stuffed the big jar of peanut butter in his back pack that the was going to live at the caves because no one was there any more and he would be alone and wouldn't bother anyone. I don't remember an episode where they decided to all move back to the beach, maybe I missed that one. I guess they just didn't want to be seperated from the rest of the people, who knows.
Oh well...till next week!

That was a great episode!
I don't necessarily think that the writers were trying to convince us that this whole thing is all in Hurley's head. I just think that it was all just apart of Dave's plan to get Hurley to jump off the cliff and kill himself.
You know I am continually amazed how well cast this show is. I can't believe the chemistry Hurley and Libby have together. It seems just as "real" as Jack/Kate or Jin/Sun or Rose/Bernard or Sawyer/Kate or... (you get the picture).

And I still say the chemistry we see is because these actors were relatively unknowns, except for Jack and Charlie. Imagine if they had hired big-name actors? I can't!
I just love it than when I think of Jack, I don't think of Party of Five. Or Charlie, I don't think of Lord of the Rings (although I know many fans do). They are Jack and Charlie, stuck on an island!
Yeah it was a great episode and leading us right into the season finale. Weeks away but setting the stories up.

I found it interesting that LOST didn't have very many viewers on Wednesday night. The spark seems to be fading.

Have ya'll noticed that Kate is trying to flirt more and more with Jack???? Like when she tried to go to the hatch with him, etc. etc. and when she told him she was glad he had beat Sawyer in playing cards.....she said she hadn't taken a shower in a while, well her hair was the cleanist I have every seen it, all curly and bouncy and around her face!!!
Mary
PS I really think she wants her cake and wants to eat it too!!!! (aka Jack/Sawyer)

Mary - I've noticed it, in almost every scene she has with Sawyer, there's major flirting going on. He's always flirted with her but now she's reciprocating and blushing like a teenager. It's almost uncomfortable to watch! Is she trying to make Jack jealous? They've almost backed off of any possible romance between her and Jack. When I see this Kate/Sawyer flirting going on, I almost want them together. He is the hunk but IMHO, he still isn't Jack. Why she'd even ~look~ at Sawyer, when Jack's right there, is a mystery to me! But then again there are plenty of mysteries to go around on this island.....
There was an interesting Lost thread on the IMDB message board - which flashback is your favorite. I replied and said Locke probably, b/c we still don't know what caused him to lose the use of his legs. His story really tugs at your heart, he's had so many heartbreaking things in his past. But as the thread has grown, it hit me.....
Wouldn't it be interesting to see a flashback of an Other? We'd probably end up more confused, not less but they could choose Desmond or Danielle (non-Other). Even fake Henry?

I am much more interested in Rose, Bernard, Libby, and even another flashback from Kate or Locke. I need to know about them!!!
That sounds like an addiction, doesn't it?

if they have many more episodes liek Wednesday's, they will lose this viewer as well
Please kill off Hurley, his eps are AWFUL, and its time to develop the plot and stop with these AWFUL flashbacks. I dont give a you know what about what happened before they arrived on the island, unless it is directly related to the plot (such as them being in hell, and then only the sin they committed to be sent there)

I really liked it too. I love Hurley...he cracks me up, although this wasn't really one for his humor. It told us a lot about him.
Garrett, I don't why there were less viewers this past Wednesday...perhaps a bad batch of Nielson ratings...just so happened to get non-LOST fans? lol
I hear of more and more people starting to watch, yes this far into it. Then they go back and rent/buy season 1 to catch up. That's gotta be tough, but they hear how good it is, and wanna get in on the action.
As far as Hurley's flashbacks and episodes with Dave on the island, I'm really starting to believe that everyone who is on the island has some huge demon they're fighting, and somehow they're all related in some way and that's why they're here. Hurley's is his obsession with food and no matter how hard he tries (therapy, etc.), he just can't give it up. I don't know about the Dave thing. At first, I thought he was real, but then that picture? I was like WHOA! Maybe he was Hurley's friend who died, and Hurley just couldn't cope with it and thinks he's still alive and his doctor had to prove to him that he wasn't really there.
Then he shows up on the island. Maybe it's in Hurley's mind, but maybe it isn't. Jack saw his dad. Shannon AND Sayid saw Walt. The polar bear? I thought the comic book had something to do with that, and Walt's special powers or whatever you want to call them. Remember the flashback from his mom's apt. last year?
I get more and more confused all the time, yet some things start to make more sense. I want to know more about what Claire's pyschic saw. That drives me nuts because it's like he knew the plane would crash on a deserted island and that Claire would make it. Remember he said that SHE had to raise this baby to keep him safe, and then created a mock adoption in L.A. to get her on this flight. Why doesn't he tell the authorities what he thinks/knows? lol
Protecting the baby...? But the baby doesn't exactly seem that safe on the island!
