Terrible news for the DFW area...
The kid that was left in the hot day care van has died at 1:00AM CDT this morning.

Truly, truly sad story. There needs to be standards set in place for daycares like this - have one employee go back to the Van/Bus after unloading. It would only take 5 minutes. Day care centers have more than one employee working, so one could be spared a few minutes to do this duty. If I were in charge (well it wouldn't happen hopefully in the first place) this is what I'd impose.
I can remember shopping/running errands without my youngest daughter after she went off the first grade full days, and routinely looking back at the car for her. I always checked, out of habit. Felt like I missing an arm or something for a good year there. Can't imagine ever walking off and forgetting a child was still in the car. Hate to sound judgemental but when you ride around with kids in the car, they are yapping the whole time, unless napping. You know they're there!
Feel deeply for this young child's family. Prayers going out to them.

So very very sad!!!!
I can't even imagine and like Miss Mary said, all someone had to do was take five minutes (if that long) to check the van! It just breaks my heart....it literally hurts for this child and his/her family. They could sue them but what good would that do? It won't bring their child back!!!!
I'm sorry but this has really gotten to me. I keep thinking about that poor child sitting in the hot van, helpless, waiting for someone to get him out. It is too cruel and those responsible should be punished severely but I know it won't be harsh enough for me!!

just reminded everyone here in AZ that leaving a child unattended in a locked vehicle is considered Child Endangerment and can lead to the child being taken away from the Parents-if the child dies from the act-the charge is then 2nd Degree Murder. Additionally, it is also illegal to do the same with a pet and if the animal dies it's Felony Animal Cruelty which is punishable by jail time and a hefty fine.

We Had an Incident
of this in Phoenix yesterday where a Mother(?) left her child in the car while she visited the Doctor. Police are "investigating" which means that they are waiting to see if the child survives before filing charges. Suffice it to say that you don't want to leave kids in a car where I will see them because I WILL (and Have) turn your tush into the Police.

The mother (?) said she *forgot* about her daughter, now how in the HADES can you forget your kid for crips sake??? She claimed she was *exhausted* but ya know what, if your THAT tired you shouldn't be on the road in the FIRST place, *IDIOTS*
Same goes for pets, I can't tell you HOW many times we've called the police on ppl for leaving their dogs in a locked up car! In Az, you will serve as much if not MORE time for treating you pet like this!
