When Is The Best Time To Get Out

#1 Postby Janice » Wed Apr 05, 2006 1:24 pm

We have all been in discussions here where we felt it is just best to get out and not say anymore.

When do you feel is the best time for you to get out? Right from the start when you realize no one agrees with you? When there is a lot of bickering?
Or, do you feel you will stay in for the long haul?

I felt it was best I quit discussing BonJovi cause it was hurting Kelley, so I quit.

When one sees in a particular topic where an individual is totally unwilling to digest and ponder any advice given for a certain situation in their lives. All due respect why/don't post about something if unwilling to take in any feedback from peeps...as that's just wearing on them as it is who is in the situation. It's only from good intentions and genuine caring about the person is why we're willing to try to help if even a little bit.

I think that person is just trying to vent. He wants you to agree with him. You cannot reason with him if he will not listen. Maybe you should just let him vent and not respond.

Usually, I get out when

1) my head starts to feel like it is going to explode
2) I find myself throwing up my hands halfway through a post
3) when all efforts have gone unheard/ignored.

I stay in when

1) I'm feeling mean.

I can't really give a clear answer, but my sense usually does get the best of me before it's too late.

Either that or when I get bored or I sense that others are getting bored.

Out means you are leaving the discussion. You are either getting mad, making others mad or think for the best of your sanity, leave.

Its hard to for me to just let someone else have the last word even when I know they are full of it. When I start feeling myself getting angry I leave the discussion. The staff here takes care of the trolls quite well btw
