EGAD!! Paris Hilton considered for Mother Teresa role ?????

#1 Postby alicia-w » Thu Apr 06, 2006 3:01 pm

GIVE ME A BREAK!! This is almost vulgar that the queen of excess could even be ALLOWED to play the role of Mother Teresa.

"She’s on director’s short list because of ‘facial resemblance" to the nun.

Party girl. Pop-star wannabe. Paparazzi target.

Paris Hilton is many things – but a nun?!

And not just any nun, Hilton is being considered to play Mother Teresa, according to People magazine.

Indian film director T. Rajeevnath, who is making a movie about the late Mother Teresa said the 25-year-old socialite is on his short list of actresses to play the Nobel Prize winner.

The director said Hilton shares a close "facial resemblance" with Mother Teresa.

"A meeting with Paris Hilton is scheduled for the end of April," Rajeevnath said.

He said he stumbled upon the casting idea when he saw a computer-generated image showing what he considers a close facial resemblance between the 25-year-old hotel heiress and the Albanian-born nun, who died in 1997.

The director told the Indo-Asian News Service he was first impressed by Hilton when he read an article in which she said she'd refused to pose nude for Playboy.

Still, Hilton's casting is not a slam dunk. "Although there are several actresses willing to play the role of Mother Teresa, the most widely respected and loved person, the history of the actress who is finally chosen for the role would have to be analyzed thoroughly before she is chosen," Rajeevnath said.

Indian press reports say the movie will be in English, and shooting in West Bengal and several other countries is scheduled to begin in early 2007, with proceeds benefiting the Missionaries of Charity, according to People. "

An unknown should play the role of Mother Teresa. That is the only way this could be pulled off. Mother Teresa was so humble, they'd need to find a face the world hasn't met before.

We've met Paris Hilton AND Britney Spears. And neither one could be even remotely Mother Teresa-like!

That is appalling that they'd even consider that.

Yes, Hollywood could have done so MUCH better for their selection for a movie about Mother Teresa.

Perhaps Michael Learned, Karen Grassle or Melissa Sue Anderson for ie. for Teresa in the early years and Dame Maggie Smith for the later years.

Paris or her family probably would pay big bucks for the chance to star in a movie. I am sure with her money she does not stand in line for anything. She could probably buy the part.
