Will the Kansas City Metro area escape this event without a TOR watch?

Probably.... Extreme southern areas of the metro area under that Tornado Watch.

I doubt it. That seems like a good candidate for Tornado Watch 160.

Crazy C83...that is my thought as well. I think they probably issued the PDS further south and will issue just a regular TOR watch for northern MO instead of letting one cover all.

Crazy,
Nothing going on anywhere near KC. I highly doubt we go under a Tornado Watch.

Surface based capes running around 1500 across KC metro and points north, LI's down around -3, with helicity values looking impressive right around 275 or so. As the dryline continues to punch east, I certainly think we could see some convection continue to fire up. The low level jet will begin to kick in as well (although perhaps a little south of the area) and contribue to storm rotation as well. We'll just wait and see...

I definitely think KC will go under a watch... likely within the next hour or two. Parameters are definitely there for potential tornadoes there, too.

Yeah, but these are all moving east...you should be in it later this evening. Not sure if it will be a PDS.

Lincoln is a fairly small city, 100k or so in the area, you might check Omaha
