While this severe weather has all been happening...I just realized that the TX panhandle, western Oklahoma and many other areas of the plains have been getting good 25-45mph sustained winds and gusts to 35-60mph (even one 70mph report) over the last two days. There has even been a large swath of blowing dust (similar to the dust bowl?). This system is truely powerful. It is amazing that it can produce tropical storm force winds (at least in gusts..but in some places sustained) for over 2 days!
EDIT: take a look at the loop of this low:
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/sat_loop24.php Is it just me or is this thing heading straight for the gulf coast??? If so, then they may need to start increasing our wind speed potential!
***Many places in that approaching cloud plume are experiencing 30-40+mph wind gusts and blowing dust. How crazy would it be if that reached Houston (with some dust still associated with it).***

Looking at this tower cam shot...it looks like a little dust may have reached Dallas. Anyone in northern Texas seeing any dust/strong wind right now?
**You can track the leading edge of the dust/wind on the Dallas radar!**
