PRAISE THE LORD!

After 2 YEARS, yes......2 YEARS of not having a "Home Church" so to speak, we FINALLY found "THE" church today 8-) As most of you know, our old church split this time 2 years ago and it KILLED me spiritually, seriously, I could have cared LESS about church, God etc. etc.......

One of our best friends has been bugging and bugging us for OVER a YEAR to try their church, well, today, we did and PRAISE to GOD.......it's THE church for us. The pastor's new, from Georgia, Atlanta I believe and he's the "Hell Fire and Brimstone Southern Baptist Preacher" I've been missing.........

HAPPY Easter INDEED!

That sounds good Dennis, it's been years since we've been to church regularly. I think that I need a good fire and brimstone pastor to snap me out of my spritual doldrums. There is a church near here that is an independent "fellowship" type of church. My stepdaughter and her fiancee go there. This church has an outreach for teens friday nights as a sort of drop-in game room. It seems that things are leading us to join, and we've visited this church a few times for sunday worship. But something just doesn't feel right to me. All they talk about and preach about is the mountaintop experience: being blest, feeling good, prosperity, and those type of things. I think that a church needs at least a balance. Every once in a while every christian needs a down and dirty, hellfire and brimstone, put-on-your-sackcloth-and-ashes, experience that makes you feel like the dirty sinner that you are, or reminds you of the dirty sinner that you used to be. After that, the redemption is so sweet! And then after that, you'll need some teaching to help you find your way through the pitfalls of life. This church is aflame, but I don't feel any heat!!

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I'm glad that you found what you were yearning for. May his will be done in your life and mine!

LOL, Dennis, I was brought up by those "Hellfire-and-Brimstone" Southern
Baptist sermons, too. They never fail to hit me right up the middle!
