Luxuries

#1 Postby Janice » Tue Apr 18, 2006 3:36 pm

What little luxury are you going to get for yourself in the future.

YOU DESERVE IT>...

Me.... When we move at the end of the year to a condo, we want to get a golf cart. We live by the ocean and I would love to ride around town in one. I see a lot of them in our town.

I'll settle for the luxury of an empty nest. (I typed that as my 14 year old son hacked up a honker and spit it in trash noisily, then proceeds to the kitchen to eat dinner for the 3rd time. Meanwhile, the 11 year old and 10 year old are having a major argument about time on the computer. Hey guys, I'm on THIS computer -you guys work it out!!)

I pretty much have everything that I need right now:

car, computers, big screen tv, cd players, girlfriend, playstation, warm weather.

If there was one thing I would want as a luxury would probably be Large Number of Money in my bank account.

I think a few years down the road I will change my mind.

SFlorida, get all your toys BEFORE you get married and have children.

By the way, that'll take care of the bank account too!

LOL, aw, Ed - you make me want to have an instant family! (*breeze
ducks from Ed's thrown rotten tomatoes)!

I just want a better car (not new - let some other sucker drive it off of
the lot and depreciate it) - with a CD player - good A/C (mine works ok
after driving it 15 miles), and, better gas mileage.

I'm waiting to win that Tennessee lottery.

~ A swimming pool 8-)
~ A brand spanking new car (conversion van)
~ A boat big enough to take out in the intercoastal or to the reefs in the Keys and island hop.
~ A new wardrobe
~ A personal trainer

And lol at Ed you are so right, get all the stuff you want before the kids arrive, because once they are here its all about them.

Edit: Opps I thought this said luxury things you want NOT are going to get. Because I don't think any of those are coming anytime soon. Maybe the van but not spanking new.

I'd just like to be able to buy clothes not on sale! Or in the same season. I usually buy off seasons, for good prices. For example it's time I bought a new swimsuit and the one I like at Lands' End is $89. Now I've never paid that much for a swimsuit. The kids are saying - buy it mom, you deserve it. But will I hit that submit button - probably not!

And maybe a VW Beetle. Or Mini-Cooper.

My tastes are simple. LOL

Mary

PS - one more thing, a log cabin in the woods. Now that would be sweet!

a bank account
a house
clothes that haven't been hand me downs or goodwill
being able to go food shopping and actually buy real food
right now these are all considered luxuries for me, sigh

I'm spiraling down the lower 3rd of my life. I have more material things than I ever could have hoped for, but what makes me the happiest is the person I will spend my remaining days with. If only I had found her earlier.

But ya did now j and for that, I'm sure you're very thankful!

I'm not a materialistic person, simple tastes and all that. But after reading your reply j, you said it so well - and what really matters! Thanks.

And now you can go back to your funny, sarcastic ways.....but that was one unlike-j reply!

I have never had cashmere socks, but I do have LV luggage and lots of purses and totes. They are my weakness. I am done now, I have enough. My aunt in Beverly Hills gave me some and John bought me some on his trips.

Wow, cashmere socks..... How much does a pair cost and where do you wear them? Do you wear them with tennis shoes or loafers? I am sure this is an item which you wouldn't own a lot of pairs.....
