I like a good old fashioned argument now and again.

Well, I am going to buy a new car at the end of this year and it will definately be a compact. I am looking at a used, couple years old to save big bucks, volkswagon convertible. I can save a couple thousand just by getting one a couple years old. Living in Puerto Rico near the ocean is hard on cars, no use getting a big buck car.

For SOME reason, we're still at $2.99 for the CHEAP stuff........tourist season is JUST now starting, I'm SURE by this weekend they'll raise the price by 20-30 cents and I can't WAIT UNTIL Memorial Day weekend, probably looking at $4-$5 a gallon by then.
Gas prices in Phoenix (according to the news this a.m.) is anywhere from $2.79 to "$3.67" a gallon........the 3 bucks stuff is at the INDEPENDENT stations, ya know the kind, owned by Iranians, Iraqis and other "ethnic" peoples

To reduce the amount of petroleum they burn.
It's irresponsible to have 4,5, or 7 kids in the first place.
That's a rude statement. It's irresponsible to have ANY kids if you dont take care of them, but how many kids people have is frankly none of your business.

you should look into a VW more closely. they strongly recommend the use of premium gas which (the last time i checked) also had a premium price tag.

The only VW's that need Premium Unleaded gasoline are the ones with the turbo engines (the 1.8T in the models up through 2005 and the 2.0T in the 2006 models). These days, the cost difference between Regular and Premium is such a small percentage that it makes very little difference anyway.
If you're looking at VW, I wouldhighly recommend you check out the diesels currently available in the Beetle, Golf, and Jetta. Diesel fuel fluctuates between just below the cost of Regular Unleaded and just above the cost of Premium Unleaded, but the incredible fuel economy fo the cars way more than makes up for the expense of buying diesel fuel. The TDI Jettas get something like 45 mpg's in real life performance. And the best part of the TDI's is that they still perform quite well even as they save fuel.

That's what I paid yesterday.
They're having problems with getting the terminals setup to mix the gasoline with ethanol and they are also changing the formula from winter to summer solutions. The Sunoco station on the AC Expressway didn't have regular gasoline available last night. The Philadelphia Inquirer had a big write-up this morning on the various gas stations running out of fuel.
I just hope "when" they get this resolved, we see some relief at the pumps, or at the very least, the price stays level.
