Ever since my dad reinstalled Windows and replaced the old hard drive (the one with the clicking sounds, thank goodness it's gone), another problem has arrived. This one is probably solvable with some Internet Option experimenting but I do not want to keep working with this.

What it looks like on my computer
I've cleared my Temp Internet Files but then it just shows up with a different freaky pattern. Also I'm betting this relates to the problem I've been having of loading pages and then stopping mid-way. I've tried to get rid of my firewall, but once I do that problems arise as well. One of them is that this thing will come up saying something like your registry is messed up and you have to go to <insert url>. Another problem is sometimes I will be unable to backclick for a time, or open Task Manager, or reenable the firewall, until I close a certain window.

Yeah probably. My dad's machine had the same problem and it kept getting worse, in the end it crashed.
Good news is I've fixed the image problem. Once again it is my darn Norton firewall.

I would then get rid of Norton . there are ma free virus program called avast that is great and is availible at http://www.avast.com. You have to register it and they give you a license code good for a year. It does not cost to register it. I use it and I gave up Norton a long time ago. There is also AVG virus program that is freeware. For a firewall there is the freeware Foxie Firewall available at this address: http://www.getfoxie.com/feature/firewall/ I hope I have helped you with some ideas to replace Norton's features.
