Hello All
Nice to be posting back here again. I know you guys have already had a very active year and tragically, a number of fatalities. My thoughts go to all those families that have been affected.
UKWW are sending 8 teams to the USA this year with my team being the first, in fact this time next week we will arrive DFW; see team profile here:

Needless to say we are looking forward to this years chase. Not only because we get to witness some of the most awe-inspiring sights Mother nature has to offer but because we can play our part in reporting and confirming severe weather events to NWS offices.
I have already secured quite decent media coverage here on my little island in the English Channel, http://www.ukweatherworld.co.uk/forum/f ... 59&start=1
..to be honest my aim was to raise general awareness of severe weather - the number of times I have been asked "what is the difference between a tornado and a hurricane?" - eeek!
Anyway, I hope you guys will wish us well and remember if you live in the alley, make sure your tornado preperations are already in effect!

just to update you guys. The first 6 days were monster supercell after monster supercell. We have had tornado sirens go off in Coalgate, large hail impact, incredible bow echo in Brownwood - this was nothing short of "....end of the world type stuff". Superb structure on more than one occasion. Landspout formed 200 meters from our location E of San Angelo. 2 nightime naders in Clairmont, TX and another in Atoka, OK. Arriving at a hotel in Snyder being approached by a perfect hook echo and NWS issuing a Tornado Warning for us.
We were 50 miles North of the tragic F3 that devastated Westminster, Collin Co - took sobering images of the damage 48 hours afterwards.
The Bear's Cage experience Quinah, just E of Childress on 2 May was awesome. Problem was W cells were absorbed by the E cells we were chasing - we say incredible cloud formations and gunshot thunder. In fact we had gunshot thunder tonight as we chased storms to our location tonight - Corpus Christi! If anyone wants to meet up - let me know!
