3 tornadoes reported at last check, although one was a separate system in North Dakota. Mostly hail reports.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
938 PM CDT FRI APR 28 2006

.UPDATE...
NOT PLANNING ON MANY CHANGES THIS GO AROUND. ACTIVITY TO THE WEST
CONTINUING TO NUDGE EVER SO CLOSE. A QUICK LOOK AT EARLY ETA RUNS
WOULD SEEM TO INDICATE A SLIGHTLY SLOWER (THAN CURRENT FORECASTS)
TIMING FOR THE CONVECTION ASSOCIATED WITH THE DRYLINE/UPPER TROF.
WILL HAVE TO SEE IF THE OTHER MODEL SOLUTIONS GO WITH THIS TREND.
IN THE MEANWHILE THE LEAD STORMS TO THE WEST SHOULD MAINLY AFFECT
OUR NRN COUNTIES WITH THIS INTIAL ROUND. DEWPOINTS/WINDS STILL ON
THE HIGH SIDE THIS EVENING AND UA PLOTS SHOWING AS RATHER IMPRES-
SIVE UPPER JET (ABOUT 130KT) APPROACHING FROM THE SW. SO IT WOULD
SEEM THAT THE INGREDIENTS ARE COMING TOGETHER BUT THE MAIN QUEST-
ION MARK LOOKS TO BE TIMING. 41

If this slowing trend continues, then we may be talking about tomorrow afternoon instead of tomorrow morning. If this thing can hold off that long, then a derecho is probably possible due to daytime heating and prime instability. One good thing about it happening in the afternoon would be plenty of sunlight if power fails and the ability to see the storm coming (or at least see the gust front).

I agree ... however I don't feel it will be afternoon .... probably around 11AM or Noon in my estimation unless it slows down even more.

There is some good news in that the storm looks a bit outflow dominant, lessening its tornado potential. Look out for large hail and winds though, and of course the lightning and torrential rains.

when will this "main" line develop??? It is very hard to try and estimate a time when the MCS will move through tomorrow without something to track.

This includes NW Harris County!? May be we will get 2 rounds of severe weather tonight...one being a tornado/hail threat and the other being a high wind threat.

Trying to track the storm chaser positions. The tornado sirens are going off in Trophy Club and Ronake N of Fort Worth.

Katdaddy, that was a sample clip. You have register to listen to the real time reports. None of them are streaming at the present time.

It seems the area around Texas Motor Speedway is going to get it.
